Rules:

1. Bold your votes. Unvotes are welcome but unnecessary.

3. Deadlines will be 2 weeks. No majority at deadline means no lynch. If the day goes to deadline while in a duel, the duel will be cancelled and the game will go immediately to night with no lynch. Nights will last 2 days. Not submitting an action during the night means no action will be taken. Players can submit actions in advance.

4. If you are lynched, do not post after you are dead. Hammered players may continue to talk until the flip is posted.
If you are killed in a duel, you are allowed to make one 'bah' post consisting of no more than a single sentence.

5. Don't cheat. Cheating includes but is not limited to: communicating with a player outside the game unless explicitly permitted to in your role, quoting/screenshotting/linking mod communication or quicktopics, hidden tags or text, cryptography, editing/deleting posts, "trust tells", and outside influences such as bets. If you have a question about whether something is allowed or not, ask before you do it.

6. Play to win. Don't be excessively abusive.

7. Don't break any site rules.

bolded is confirmed. * represents a prod.

The setup for this game is High Noon.

The setup is all-vanilla with one special gimmick: once per day, one player may challenge another player to a duel by posting
Duel: playername
. Once you enter into a duel, there is no backing down. In a duel, the town must vote between the two duelists to decide who is killed. Duelists do not have a vote. Once a majority of non-duelists have voted for a player, that player is killed and the duel ends. The day continues as normal after a duel, with vote counts reset and players voting for a lynch. There is a maximum of one duel and one lynch per day.

Role PMs:

You are a
townsperson
. You're just a plain old citizen of this ghost town, and you're determined to get rid of the outlaws, whether it's by the gun or by the noose, so that life can be peaceful here again.
You have the ability to start duels as described in the rules. Aside from that, you have only your voice and your vote.
You win when both outlaws are dead.

You are an
outlaw
. You and your partner, _____, are trying to silence the town so you can ride off with your stolen gold.
During the night, you can talk with your partner in your hideout, located here: [QT link] Each night you or your partner can kill one of the townspeople. Kills can be submitted in the QT or by PM.
You win when you control 50% of the town or nothing can prevent this from happening, as you can get the drop on any of them in a straight-up shootout.

Welcome to the town of Scoville, population 10. A ghost town on the site of a failed gold mine. Nothing much goes on here...but then, the people tend to like it that way. However, that's about to change...

7/9 have confirmed, game starts now. Scum will have a 48 hour grace period in which they can still communicate in their QT and then it will be locked for the day.

Early this morning, the whole town was awoken by a noise not often heard in Scoville - a gunshot. People rushed out into the street, looking around nervously for the source of the noise. It shortly became apparent that there were only 9 of them around. The Sheriff was missing. Rushing into his office, they found his office ransacked and him slumped over in his chair, a single gunshot wound in his chest. Who would murder the sheriff? No one had been arrested in Scoville in two years and no one was known to have quarreled with him, so clearly there was something more than a grudge at play here. The townspeople eyed each other suspiciously, realizing that some of them must be bloodthirsty outlaw murderers...

"Big" Jeffrey Regwell - Town Sheriff, shot night 0!

It is now Day 1. With 9 alive it's 5 to lynch. There has not been a duel today. Deadline for day 1 is 6 PM EST on November 27. That's in
(expired on 2012-11-27 18:00:00)
.

Man, I want to duel somebody so badly. Are we going to force scummy people to duel each other? It seemed like a good idea originally but it really just makes it harder to analyze bussing and the like.

I think once you think you've found scum you challenge them to a duel and try to get them lynched. Forcing the two scummiest people to duel sounds like a neat idea but I don't think it's practical.

Technically how can we force two scummy people to duel each other?

If they are on the same team I wouldn't expect them to go DUEL:!:!______. It's just like killing their chances of winning, so it's not practical.

I rather do what Syn said. Challenge them and fight like hell.

Yeah not sure how I feel about that whole scum "grace period", not used to it nor do I think it really has a place. But whatever, it's pregame so I doubt it'll make a big difference.

On that note, forget this RVS nonsense.

Let's discuss, then. First you can explain the town motivation behind initiating a duel with a player you haven't had the opportunity to form a read on.

Explain the scum motivation behind McStab choosing to have a 50% chance of getting lynched. Sounds really ballsy.

Well since we can't talk about it outside of the game, that's the only way I could say it. Too late though, mcstab wants to do exactly what I suggested not to do. And to someone who hasn't even posed yet. *face palm*

Edit: nvm he posted.

Mcstab, either you're scum, because dueling someone who you havnt even read is quite scummy (why would you want to kill a possible townie)
Or you're just an over zealous townie.. Which could be possible.
