The Rules - Please read them!

Fundamental

1)
The site-wide rules apply, please read them and don't do anything stupid.
2)
Unless it is explicitly stated in your role PM that you can do so, do not talk about this game outside of the game thread.
3)
Do not quote/screenshot any communication you have with me, the moderator of the game. You may paraphrase things I have sent you (such as a role title, abilities and results) but direct quoting and talk about role PM flavour is not allowed.
4)
Be courteous to your fellow player. This is just a game - please don't bring any personal grudges in. Lets have fun, okay!

Voting, Lynching & Death

5)
For your vote to be counted, it should be bolded or in vote tags, like so; VOTE: Hoopla.
6)
Unvotes when switching votes aren't necessary, but will be appreciated.
7)
A lynch will occur when a player achieves 50% +1 of the votes. When this has happened, any subsequent votes and unvotes will not be counted, and the game will enter twilight. Night will begin as soon as I have declared the lynch.
8)
The town may opt to 'no lynch' in lieu of lynching a player on any day. VOTE: No Lynch is the format for this. No lynching requires only 50% of the town's votes to go through, as opposed to a majority.

Activity & Deadlines

9)
Prods will be issued after 48 hours in a row without posting or under request from players. Multiple prods will probably lead to your replacement.
10)
Day 1 deadline is set for 12 days, while every Day Phase thereafter is set for 9 days.
11)
In the event of a deadline ending without a player gaining a majority of votes, there will be no lynch.
12)
Nights will have a 48 hour deadline. If you fail to send in a nightaction, you will automatically default to 'no action' for that night, and you will do nothing.
13)
In the event of replacements or any other disturbances, I will grant a deadline extension. Laziness isn't an excuse though.

14)
Please do not use small/invisible text, steganography or advanced forms of coding/cryptography.
15)
Please do not use any form of "trust tell" or let external influences into the game.
16)
Blue
is my colour I will use for modly purposes. All other colours are fair game.
17)
Do not try to exploit any loopholes there may be in this rule-set. I reserve the right to add, remove or modify existing rules at any time. If this happens, I will let everyone know.

Game Specific Rules:


Each player in the game will be given an alignment, role and a rank. Your rank affects your ability to target other players in the game. Generally speaking, any action you have will only be successful on those with the same or a lesser rank than you.

Each night you may investigate one player, and find out who they targetted (if anyone) for that night. Your action will only be successful on those with the same or a lesser rank than you.


Win Condition:
You win when all threats to the town are eliminated, and there is at least one town-aligned player alive.

- There is at least one mafia faction comprising of at least two players.
- Mafia will have the ability to daytalk.
- The factional kill will fall within the ranking mechanic.
- It is possible for duplicate roles or ranks to exist within the game, just as it's possible for any role/rank to be any alignment.
- There is at least one player in the game who received a Vanilla role.
- If Bombs exist in the game, their role will also be a Bomb. For the sake of clarity, a Bomb will function like a PGO exploding anyone that targets it. However, a Bomb can only explode once, so it will be considered defused after the night it has exploded. All actions will succeed on a Bomb.
- Miners will intrinsically be immune to the effects of a bomb if they target one and will automatically defuse it. A Bomb being defused in this manner will resolve before any other action in the night.
- Spies' actions will only be successful on a Marshal (or a Bomb).

Well, shall we begin discussion and such?

I don't know any of you yet. So, I don't know any standard reads per the individual player or play styles. Will learn such as the day goes on. I think we should probably get in and out of RVS as quickly as possible, because I've always viewed RVS as rather counterproductive.

The stratego system of resolution adds another interesting aspect to the game, outside of the normal Natural Resolution way. Personally, I would assume the mafia has the marshal and a three or the spy and a nine. But, as there are actually 10 ranks + bomb, we won't have all the numbers in order here. I'd assume with so much talk as how a bomb's reaction resolves, we probably have one. So, this is my baseline thoughts on this game. I do wonder if scouts have the exceptional movement still...

Sure.

Back when I used to play here it was common for the scum to be able to use the scum chat while the mod waited for the confirmations. By delaying the confirmation they could delay the start of day 1 and prolong the pre start scum chat.

It's real interesting that of the last 2 to cofirm, 1voted for the other.
