Gameplay

1. You may not post Moderator-supplied information
   (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing your role pm is allowed.
   
2. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it. Players with roles allowing communication may only communicate outside the thread during the Night phase.
   
3. Mafia games sometimes start with the Night phase. However, in order for all players to play at least one game day,
   this game will start with a Day phase
   . Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins. At that point, you may only communicate privately when your role allows it.
   
4. The games at Mafiascum.net typically do not have a posting requirement. As a general rule, however, you should aim for one post every 48 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
   If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread.
   Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death

1. A simple majority of all living members must agree on one person for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down).
   
2. Once you have reached a simple majority, no further unvoting will change someone’s fate.
   
3. Please submit votes as "
   Vote: PlayerName
   ". Votes will NOT be counted otherwise!
   
4. There is no Rule #4...muahahaha
   
   
5. You may "
   Vote: No Lynch
   " - a simple majority of these vote types are required to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.
   
6. Each Day phase will last no longer than
   2 weeks
   . At deadline, ½ the original number of votes will be required for a lynch to occur. In case of a tie, the person who first received the required number of votes will be lynched. If this number is not met, a No Lynch will occur.
   
7. Each Night phase will last no longer than
   3 days
   , long enough to allow mafia to discuss strategy and choose who to kill. If you have a role with a Night action, your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline, no choice will be made.
   
8. Once a player is lynched, the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all living players may continue to post.
   
9. Once you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post, except for a brief “Bah!”-type post.

Miscellaneous

1. Robust cryptography and steganography are not allowed in my games. No invisible/small text is allowed, either.
   Additionally, blue text is not allowed, as that is the color I will be using to note mod comments if I have to edit player posts for any reason (rule-breaking, quote tags, etc).
   
   
2. Do not discuss the game with any players outside this thread
   , unless you are specifically given permission to do so.
   
3. If you have an issue/problem with the game beyond anything related to the vote count, please PM me privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
   
4. Questions/requests for the Mod may be posted in-thread.
   Please bold all requests so that I don’t miss them.
   If you do feel I've missed a question, please PM me a reminder, preferably with a link to that post.
   
5. Terminology and answers to common questions can usually be found by a perusal of the Mafiascum.net Wiki. If you can't find the answer to a question, feel free to ask!
   
6. Prods of missing players will be issued upon request or as I see fit. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice.

The dates had been set, attendees had confirmed, and flights had been booked. Everything was coming together for the meet, and the hosts were prepping for the first arrivals. Grimmjow was cleaning the kitchen, InflatablePie was picking up downstairs, and xRECKONERx was on his way back from the airport. Anticipation was running high, and as people arrived they exchanged greetings and immediately started drinking, obviously. After a few rounds of Circle of Death were followed by Cards Against Humanity, everyone was completely shitfaced. Realizing that he was probably going to do something stupid like pass out while taking a shit if he kept drinking, Hinduragi decided to call it quits for the night. Heading downstairs, he stumbled into John’s old room, hoping to crash on the bed before anyone else had a chance to claim it.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group had started breaking out their laptops for an in-house game of LoL, unsurprisingly. Fate, Reck, Grimm, Pie, and Esurio would be facing Glork, quadz08, singersigner, Mastermind of Sin, and Nuwen. Glork immediately banned Lee Sin, of course, causing Fate to rage and start shooting him with the nerf gun. Sitting over on the couch, Glork was reaching behind him to grab a pillow to shield himself when everyone heard an incredibly girly scream from the basement. Rushing downstairs to see who had made the noise, the group burst in on Hindu sprawled on top of Ythan. The group started laughing and making gay jokes at Hindu until he rolled over and revealed the blood pooling around Ythan’s body.

Everyone started talking at once, trying to get a word in about the situation. After a minute or two of confusion, Grimmjow finally stood up on the bed and screamed to get everyone’s attention.

“Look, I know this is fucked up, but we have to figure out what happened. We can’t have people taking out Commune initiates, not under our watch!”

Reck walked over and stood next to the bed, adding his agreement.

“You’re right, babe...besides, who knows if it could happen again? Pie, weren't you down here cleaning earlier? You might have been the last person to see Ythan alive...”

The group all turned to look at Pie, who immediately lifted his hand and pointed it at himself.

“Yup, it was me. I killed Ythan tonight. Vote: Pie.”

Reck gave a sad chuckle, shaking his head.

“Alright, Pie’s town. No, seriously, nobody is leaving here until we find out what happened to Ythan. It could have been anyone. Except me, of course. I’m fucking obviously town, guys.”

And so everyone gathered in a circle in the basement and did exactly what scummers do best: Lie.
