Don’t Be Stupid Mafia

Welcome to the happy little town of Riteville. As long as you keep your wits about you, and keep your wits public, things will be fine. It is common knowledge that your population is twenty, and that one among you can protect somebody on one night. It is also common knowledge that four among you want the rest dead. Don’t be stupid. Let the games begin.

Tigris-- Screwed Townie
Stewie-- Champion Scum

Gracefully Dead (7/20)
NEHI (Town)
Mojo (Town)

Rules:

--Roles have been shamelessly stolen from Normal 5. Four scum, fifteen townies, one doctor (changed from a one shot doc). I don’t like information roles. Rules are standard mafia rules, found at www.mafiascum.net. Don’t be stupid, make sure you know them

--No stupid questions, lest ye be mod-killed. Any questions you ask me must be totally vital to the dynamics of the game, and must not be able to be answered by anyone else. If you aren’t sure if you should be asking me a question, then don’t ask it. I’m not joking about the mod-kill thing.

--Similarly, people who obviously don’t know what they are doing will be mod-killed. As will anybody who tries to play in a way that is stupid.
UPDATE: Usually, a player will only be killed if they do something "stupid" and it somehow doesn't hurt them. If a player does something stupid, and is jumped upon about it, I'll probably let them live. I like catfights.

--You MUST make
three
useful posts per game day. The term useful will be TOTALLY subjective, and up to the mod himself. A public tally will not be kept, so you will have to judge for yourself if a post is a useful one or not. Less than three useful posts a day means you are dead at dusk.

--Failing to meet a deadline for night choice results in elimination from the game. If the mafia fails to send me a result by the deadline, all remaining mafia members are dead. Go town.

--Deadlines, when set, are permanent, and will not be changed, through rain, storm, tidal wave, or second coming.

--All night choices should be sent via PM, as should non-stupid questions.

--Note that if your death is, shall we say, not noble, the reason for it will be posted in the opening post. For all to see.

-- Update: All votes and unvotes must be posted in the form
Vote: IS

--I reserve the right to mod kill whenever I want, wherever I want[/b]

The sun rises over the happy town of Riteville. The Townfolk gather in the village square, eager to get on with their day. Suddenly, they realize that four among them are no where to be found! They puzzle about this, until a big booming voice comes out of the sky:

There are those among you who have forgotten how to live a normal night-- check up on me before any activity happens. Three of you in fact. Two were for the success of this town, one wasn't. You won't be seeing any of them again. Trust me, you wouldn't want them anyways.

Murmurs expand through the crowd, until a hopeful voice shouts out, "Eh, but what about the other one?

Your all powerful god shrugs.

A quick search of the houses answers the man's question. NEHI was just in his room. His head was in his refrigerator.

Day One has begun, nine to lynch!

Don't Be Stupid, and good luck to all!

Well, it seems that we had some stupid people on our town. Luckly, this does not happen again. I think that first, we should not end the day until we all contriuted at least 4 important posts, since if we stick to 3 and rite doesn't think that one of them was really that important, we will lose more people. I also think it's important that we should all try our best to meet the deadlines. Other than that, I think it's important for the mafia to miss their deadlines. :) Finally, I will
vote: gslamm
, simply because of him/her being first on the list, and because random.org pointed at number 1.

It seems like it will be of the essence for the mafia to not meet their deadlines, Stewie.
To get directly to the point, random.org says that i should
Vote: RubberDuck

First
itty bitty fos: mathcam
, only four died, demeech wasn't even playing :D
But I agree, I love the idea that people are forced to do things correctly or else they die. *happy place*
Right, so down to business. I feel little sympathy for anyone who can't think of three things to say in the span of a mafia day, so if anyone lurks exessively, I suggest we don't wait for the and feed them to the mod/God as our sacrificies.
With four dead and one mafia amongst them, I think the night actually helped our cause as the current ratio is 3:16, whereas at the start it was 1:5, so it is actually slightly better then beginning with day, so go town ^_^.
mostly random vote: EPR
for having the longest name in the game.

I'll
vote: Mathcam
To get the bandwagon rolling.

But let's think for a moment, from the roles in "Normal 5" where Rite got the roles from, we can see that roleclaims are almost useless in this game. So maybe the "let's just bandwagon someone and get them to talk" tactic isn't the right one. Does anyone have a genious idea on how we might find scum day 1? Maybe someone who are more likely to kill NEHI night 1 then others? Maybe something else?

Let's get a discussion going before we lynch anyone, then we might get a good idea from someone, and everyone gets the chance to make "three useful posts".Although I think it's limited how much information we can get day 1, let's give it a shot.

Actually the point of the rest of my post was the complete opposite. Therefor can we refrain from bandwagoning people before we hear what everyone has to say?

Just so I don't sound to hypocritical I'll
unvote: Mathcam
I just beat him in "Too Greedy", and we wouldn't want him to get depressed by the fact that I make him loose every game we're both in, now would we... :D

...Haha I won :)

As you can see I'm not exactly what you would call a gracious winner :D

I don't think we should vote mainly on who start a badwagon, I think we should start by the kill last night.
I think that at least one of the mafia members is an experianced player, because they killed a beginner and it's known that there is less chance that a beginner will get the first doc protection.

because mathcam is the most experianced player in this game (I think) my vote goes on him for now.

Good, Mojo gave a reasoning behind his vote. If we can skip the "completely, or almost completely random bandwagoning" on day 1, I'd be happy. Thanks to Mojo, I now think Mathcam is the most suspicious. I hope the rest of you give us an insight in the way you're thinking as well.

I won't go back to my vote on Mathcam just yet, but if other people agree that he's one of the people that would most likely target NEHI, I will put my vote on him.

Now I'm counting on the people that have been playing quite some time to give us some pointers. Let the rest of us know what you're thinking.

Also, this is only joined dates, it does not take modding, post count, etc. into account. So, while I joined in Dec of last year, I have maybe 3-400 posts between both boards and the lost ones due to the crash, but they were almost all in games, but have never bothered to mod before. In other words, it is way too much work for me to figure out actual experience for each player, especially as the search function on the old board doesn't work for me all that well.

That said, nehi is pretty close to the middle, which is the favored target of experienced mafia, due to doc protection and, in general, in game politeness.

Okay, so mathcam is suspicious because he is experienced, Nehi got killed, and mathcam got goosebumps from 4 deaths on night one? I don't understand that logic in the slightest. It is likely that at least one of the mafia is someone who is quite experienced, (i.e. has played mafia for around 6 months or more and I recognize by name). However, I don't see mathcam as suspicious right now, so I see no reason to add my vote for him.

I'm trying to decide if I agree with this. On the one hand, mafia are bound to be more active players than townies, simply because their role is more fun and exciting to play. So by waiting for everyone, we're more often waiting for townies than mafia. On the other hand, that argument's mostly crap, and any death that isn't controlled by evil forces is good death. Kind of.

I didn't say so... :)

Anyway, I don't think mathcam is really suspicious at all. Being an experienced player means nothing. Newer players might just kill at random, anyone might have thought 'the experienced player' way and there are other experienced players in this game.
