Mini 361: Leper Mafia - Game Over!

Mini 361: Leper Mafia

"Welcome to the Leper Colony! Isolated on an island in the middle of a lake in the middle of nowhere somewhere near Brazil, we welcome you to the home of people affected by Hansen's disease. We don’t get many visitors here because people think we are disgusting contagious freaks cursed by a higher power. This is not true, we are only disgusting
mildly
contagious freaks cursed by a higher power. A scientist came here once and told us that about 90% of the population is actually immune to leprosy. So don’t worry, you shan’t develop leprosy unless you’re 10% freak like us. You only look 2% freak, so I wouldn’t worry if I were you. So please stay here a while and visit with us. We’re lonely and we need love too because society has shunned us away to this deserted island. Not all of us here are lepers; some people are here on the island to “help” us. But little do you know that we lepers usually appear like normal people! I bet you wouldn’t have thought I was a leper because I hide it so well under my clothes. Thanks for the compliment. Enjoy your stay at the Leper Colony! If only you knew what really goes on here..."

(facts and figures about leprosy taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leprosy)

During “day”, all the players will convene to determine who should be lynched at the gallows. Then during “night”, they all disperse and stuff happens. Repeat.

End of Day One
End of Day Two
End of Day Three

Players: 12

Arafax
CrashTextDummie (replacing Sage)
Yosarian2
spectrumvoid
Smashy
Falcone
Save The Dragons

Rules (shamlessly stolen from various sources):

• All votes must be in bold.
Vote: pablito
.
• Please
Unvote
before casting a new vote. Your old vote will count until you
Unvote
.
• Lynches will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may
Vote: No Lynch
– majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a lynch. If a deadline is placed, a majority of votes casted will suffice.
• Once a player or no lynch hits a majority, it is Twilight. Please do not post during twilight. I will lock the thread once I can. Once you are dead, you may no longer post.
• Once I have locked the thread, it is Night. At this point, if your role allows it, you may talk to people via PM. I will declare the deadline for night-choice submissions when I lock the thread. If you do not declare your night-choice prior to deadline, I will choose it for you or decide that no night choice is made.
• Do not edit/delete any previous submitted posts. Do not use invisible text or color=black.
• Do not quote any PMs from me, people you can talk to at night or anything from outside the game. The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
• Please try to post at least once per day. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment and be considerate.
• I am your mod. Anything I say goes. PM me if you have any questions.

Note: Every player was given their role, pertinent role information, flavour text and a win condition. The pro-town win condition is
You win with the Town when all evil is off the island.
Please confirm by PM. Once all confirms are in, we will begin with Night 0.
Sup, later.

Night 0:

Leprosy is caused by Hansen's disease. This disease is caused by a mycobacterium which multiplies very slowly. Contrary to popular belief, Hansen's disease does not cause rotting of the flesh; however, due to the body's extensive attempts to rid itself of the bacterium, defenses such as inflammation cause tissue destruction.

Remember that episode of "Head of the Class" where that one girl became a candy striper at the hospital and began to think that the teacher had leprosy because his hair was falling out and other symptoms? And then she caused a big ruckus behind his back and she thought he was dying?

Remember how funny it was - especially since it was so improbable that he would have leprosy in North America these days? Well it's not funny, because
Arafax
was a leper. He was found floating in the lake - apparently he drowned. We need to find out who caused this very unfunny situation.

Arafax, leper, vanilla townie was killed N0!
Day one begins!

With 11 alive, it takes 6 to lynch!

Hello everyone.

I
vote: Shadowlurker
because I hate lurkers, although s/he probably didn't know about "lurking" when s/he chose that name.

Ok time to vote with no reason to back it up, just a dice!

Original Roll String: 1d11
1 11-Sided Dice: (7) = 7
The end justifies the means.

MM, just a thought, but I think it is much more constructive to random-vote someone, not with dice, but for some stupid reason. (See my first post)

I think it gives us more to discuss and moves the random stage along more quickly.

What's wrong with Turbovolver?

He was in my first game as an IC, and I really ripped into him. (Sorry Turbo, I guess I was a little too eager.)

Rathyr, how about you read over Subject Mafia, Mini 275?
Then
ask why I would rather have Turbovolver lynched first thing. You'll understand afterwards.

Eh...

Turbovolver essentially jumped on
everything
: i.e., the scattershot strategy. Random voting with a randomizer, the difference between "random" and "randomish", the meaning of a FoS, whether or not twenty-four hours is considered lurking, gigantic posts that everybody probably just skimmed (including response posts from myself)... just lots of random things that eventually made everybody in the game go "Ughhh... I don't want to read that".

Hopefully this game will be a different experience, though.

Rathyr: I fail to see the difference.

Random votes don't sway anyone to form bandwagons, it just piles the votes and makes it more likely for someone to trip over them. How is having the name shadowlurker any more suspicious than being caught in a random die?

Vote: Rathyr

That's how I like to random vote.

It's not, StD, but voting for someone for a reason more than a die roll promotes discussion better.

No one is going to start a discussion over the fact that MM's die roll was a three.

I said that already.

Actually, I fail to see how someone's name is going to triger discussion.

You may have meant that we all should have a reason for voting, but I think there's a difference between my reasoning and yours.

However, voting for stupid reasons like that is a good way to get yourself lynched.
