ROLES:
There are 4
:
The
Mafia
are W, X, Y, and Z. In the night you four may talk privately. Every night your group may make one kill. Be wary of the cop, who has been sent here to help the town eliminate you.
You win when mafia make up a majority of the players, or half of the players if at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There are 4
:
The
Werewolves
are W, X, Y, and Z. In the night you four may talk privately. Every night your group may make one kill. Be wary of the Aaron, for his visions allow him to see your true nature.
You win when werewolves make up a majority of the players, or half of the players if at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There is 1
Moses
:
You are the
Moses
, a limited dayvig. Once every day, prior to anyone receiving sufficient votes to be lynched, you may PM the mod to strike down another person (which doesn't end the day). You are trying to kill scum. For if you strike down a pro-town player, you will be remorseful and suffer two consequences: A) On that same day, you must not be on any lynch. If you are voting for someone when they are lynched, you lose your kill permanently. B) On the following day, you can't use your kill at all.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There is 1
Pharaoh
:
You are the
Pharaoh
. Once in the game, you may grant the town a second lynch opportunity for that day. You use this ability by PMing the mod during the day, any time prior to the lynch scene, specifying that you want to use your ability. The town will not learn of the extended day until the lynch scene is posted.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There is 1
Cop
:
You are the
Cop
. You were sent to this time to keep the mafia from eliminating the town, thus changing the course of history. Every night you may investigate one person, and learn whether they are mafia.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There is 1
Aaron
:
You are the
Aaron
, a seer. Every night you may have a vision regarding one person, and learn whether they are a werewolf.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There is 1
Miriam
:
You are the
Miriam
, a hider. Every night you may choose to hide with another person. You cannot be the target of a nightkill when you do this. However, if you hide with mafia or a werewolf, you die. Also, if the person you hide with is the target of a nightkill, they kill you too.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
There are 9
Townies
:
You are a
Townie
. You have no special abilities. But you do have a vote, which the town sorely needs to ensure bad guys are lynched rather than good guys.
You win when all mafia and werewolves are dead, and at least one pro-town player is still alive.
SPECIAL RULES:
The game starts in day.
All dead roles will be revealed immediately, including daykills.
This game can't end in a draw. If all pro-town players are dead, and both scum groups have the same number of players alive, they kill each other and everybody loses.
The game will not end prematurely, even if winning has become impossible for certain players.
Q: What if the Moses kills a townie on the same day that the Pharaoh creates a double lynch? Does the Moses have to avoid being on either lynch that day?
A: Yes. The two lynches occur on the same day, and the Moses' restriction covers that day.
Q: If instead, on the day that the Pharaoh creates a double lynch, the Moses kills scum before the first lynch, can the Moses kill someone else before the second lynch?
A: No. The two lynches occur on the same day, and the Moses' ability works just once each day.
Q: What if
both
scum groups target the Miriam while she's hiding? Does that kill her?
A: No. She can't be targeted by a nightkill when she's hiding.
If you have any questions about the mechanics of this game, or any role, or the PMed messages I may or may not send, feel free to ask me by PM or in-thread. There are no secrets. (I will try to not insert commentary on the rules without being asked, because that can appear to be an attempt to confirm or discredit someone.)
STANDARD RULES:
I'm going to use pretty standard rules, but I'll add things to this section as they occur to me.
0. I'm running the show... You can point things out if I make mistakes, but you must live with my decisions.
1
. Please post at least every few days. If you're going to be gone about that long or longer, please say so by PM or in thread.
2. If I try to contact you, and can't get a response in 48 hours for no reason known to me, I'll likely try to replace you.
3. I don't promise 100% to give warning before replacing a player.
4. If you have the ability to submit a night choice, and do not wish to use it, please PM me to say that you don't wish to use it. It'll make things go faster. If you don't PM me at all, I may make a choice for you, and I may consider replacing you.
5. You do not have to unvote. Votes and unvotes have to be bolded.
6. Don't discuss this game outside the thread. Scum factions can only talk with each other at night, unless I make exceptions.
7
. Once it is certain that you are dead (i.e., lynching vote has been cast) and forever after, you must not say anything relevant other than a "bah go town/scum" post.
If you are nightkilled, you must not make any attempt to claim/suggest/joke about any role info you have.
8. Don't quote PMs from me... Though in this game it probably wouldn't be helpful.
9. I will prod players if asked, or once a week if it looks necessary.
10. Rules regarding deadlines and modkills will be determined on the fly.
11
. Repeat rule #7.
Once you are out of the game, no relevant information.
12. Be nice and have fun! Thank you for playing!
Deadlines generally:
When the game grinds to a near halt for even a couple of days (especially weekdays), I will install a deadline or possibly move a deadline closer. The deadline will be 1-3 weeks away depending on circumstances. You can express a desire for an extension by typing
vote: extension
. I may insist on a majority vote for an extension. This vote is independent of your vote in the game. I may extend the deadline myself if I feel discussions are going well as the deadline draws near, since a deadline is supposed to encourage discussion, rather than cut it short.
The deadline rule is that a full majority must be attained prior to the deadline, or else there is no lynch at all.
Automatic prods:
In general I believe this will be the automatic prod policy: On Mondays I'll prod everyone whose last post was the previous Monday or earlier.
