Hmm, I believe the doc protection of Jayalay did help the town somewhat. It gave them better odds to lynch scum on day 2 in case someone didn't believe the cop's claim and investigation. Of course, that isn't much help, since it was very easy to believe the cop in this case.

Actually I'm amazed the town didn't screw it up on day 2 with their scuzzy logic.
