as long as I'm town, you can always trust my word. Especially in a setup like this, where I know who scum is.

To be fair, I understand why you shot Klaz. I had thought of him as possible scum as well, but I ultimately came to the conclusion that there was no way he could be scum. If I was in your position, I would've shot Maru and hoped he was scum, because, even if Klaz was scum, I'd say he deserved the win and would've been happy with the loss.
