GOT 100 FLAGS MWAHAHAHA
I'll share my base soon, be ready. :)

EDIT: Ok, music set to Meteor Falls. UGH I LOVE IT. I also made myself a Poke Maniac so anybody who codes in my Base and puts me in theirs can use the "Tell my Fortune" skill once you get only 50 flags. Every other avatar that has that skill except Poke Maniac and Fairy Tale Girl needs 100 flags and Silver Rank.

I have 866 flags, because I've been borderline obsessive about getting to platinum

Lol?

I don't even know what flags are.

The only thing I do know is that I'm legit annoyed that two core members of my team can't evolve yet, while I'm near lvl 50 and have 6 badges. Effing Nosepass and Lombre

I can trade you a Water Stone if you want one for Lombre - as for Nosepass, you can either find a Pokemon or feed it a Rare Candy while you're chilling in that small area of New Mauville that's not sealed off by the door. Just level it up once in there and you're golden. :]

Just a tip if you didn't already know that you should recruit anyone to your base that has more than maybe ~20 or so flags, the more the better. If you visit them in your base there is a chance those people will dump some extra flags on you and then you can kick them out again if you want -- between this method and individually visiting a fuckton of bases today I've gotten maybe 75 flags today alone. (That's an unusually good day though, it normally won't be that good.)

I'm not exactly sure what the permutation is that makes them give you flags but I've heard that they're supposed to give you however many flags that they've collected that day up to the point at which you streetpassed them (which is why you only recruit the people with a bunch of flags already as they're more likely to have actually collected something that day).

This I knew. :) Main reason I reached 50+ today was one of my Pals dumped 17 on me. Needless to say, I'm keeping her. For the same reasons, I'm kicking myself for not remembering to go back to the base of this one guy I found who had a Mood Lighting and tons of nice stuff.

Any idea how to get the Poke Flute and some of the other cool gizmos?

Are the stage / slide Lilycove Sale-exclusives? I forget how you got them in the originals.

RANDOM PSA FOR THOSE NOT IN THE KNOW: If you're like me and you don't use Carvanha / Numel and don't intend to level them up for any reason other than Pokedex completion, don't bother ---
you get a free Sharpedo and Camerupt post-Delta Episode in the Battle Resort

That was my method of trying to preemptively kick out anyone who would come in just to say "I hate Pokemon and so should you, whine whine wharrgarbl nonsense"

And to be fair, not being able to afford a video game is a pretty 1st world problem. When you're just worried about keeping a roof over your head and the electricity running and enough food in your belly, that's kiiiiind of more important. As big of a Pokemon fan as I am, I didn't play 4th gen until last year (it came out in 2007!) because I was just so poor from then all the way through pretty much the end of 2011. And that was
with
the bare minimum of help from family to keep me off the streets -- otherwise, I could have easily been homeless even though I was working for most of that time. So I've been there.

So maybe you can chill the fuck out, deal with whatever problems are in your real life first, and come back to Pokemon when the time is right. The games will still be around, I promise.

@Maestro: They're probably from the lilycove sale, yes. This is the full list of decorations, including locations.

It's also not entirely relevant so why do it in the first place...? It's easy to come in and say "damnit can't buy this cool thing" but then going "fuck you" to the people who can when you can just not be in the thread is rude.

Thanks esu. The other day I found a list of Mega Stones and was trying to go through them to get the ones I didn't have but when they're not organized alphabetically like they are in my bag it's annoying. I imagine that list will be easier.

It's not just this thread, though, Psyche. The vast majority of your recent posts on this site have shown that you're just here to rain on everyone else's parade and I don't have any sympathy for that. We all have our problems and yours are not important enough to warrant you being a gigantic sourpuss everywhere.

I don't understand mega pokemon. What is their deal/necessity?
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Mega stones are not consumable (infinite use).

I think mega pokemon are just yet another way to explain new evolutions on old pokemon. In previous gens there has usually been some "newly discovered" way to do this, whether it was breeding to get pre-evolutions, incense holding, location-specific evolving (i.e. Leafeon, Glaceon, Magnezone, Rhyperior), etc. Also I guess for the competitive scene it's another way to add choice to the meta game -- do I use mega Sharpedo, or would I rather give it a Rocky Helmet so any physical attacks on it hurt even more? (That is probably a bad example that no competitive player would actually do, but you get the idea.)

what's the economic version of "heteronormative"?

Do you guys suppose that emerald will be remade? I still really hope that the 3-gen Battle Frontier makes a comeback.

I've heard rumors that the Battle Frontier is time locked (meaning it would be released at a later time, perhaps in a patch). Evidence supporting this mainly seems to be a few little quips that devs have made (can't recall anything exact) and the fact that the demo had time locked elements.

Eventually someone will data mine the game and we'll have a better idea, but that's the most I've heard for now. Also a possibility is a "Pokemon Z" combining parts of ORAS and X/Y, but as for emerald specifically? I think it's unlikely, personally.

Still think my team is shit (Blaziken, Ludicolo, Electrode, Probopass, Crobat, Banette), but I love it so much that I'm just gonna ride it out with them
