It is both. Some actions are done by all, some actions are done by only the specific individual. Assume, however, that unless they specifically state they are doing an action that conflicts with your own, that they are unable to do your action, or you specify that it is just you, then the others will mirror your actions.

So if nobody conflicts with someone saying another player does something, they're going to be doing it, presumably.

And our powers over each other were able to make someone jump a lot higher. That was one person trying it. If all of us actively try to use our powers on someone else, then I think there'd be a chance.

Each of us can take an action each turn, and our actions are somewhat shared, which means we can do multiple things at once, and we should.

Action: Do the same thing TTH did - make a small hole in the mattress (under it so it's not visible to anyone walking in ) and pull out some stuffing. Put it down the toilet to clog it up.

The hole should be big enough to hide something should TTH fail. That way when the maintenance guy is done with hers and comes to mine, we have another chance just in case.

Several. Down the toilet seems a rather popular one. Hiding in the corners given the dark lighting will make things seem out of sight except to intense inspection. The bed itself and mattress itself both provide some degree of cover. Though nothing is not easily found to scrutiny, there are multiple ways to hide from quick visual scans.

However, while your mental note has gone out, the guard is preoccupied opening the cell door to allow the maintenance worker in and is thus too busy for him to notice anything else. Apparently, he is rather single-minded.
