One Night Ultimate Werewolf Rules

Please note that this game operates a little differently from a typical Mafia game.
There will be no nightkill, and no traditional voting. Instead, there are 10 "cards" (roles) that will be in the game. Every player will get one, and three will be left in the "center of the table", out of the game.

At the start of the game, I will send out role PMs. Some of these roles require choices from the players before the game begins. I will get everyone's choice at the start of the game, then after receiving all choices I will resolve them in this order:
Role Resolution Order1.
Werewolves
are automatically notified who each other are, and may
not
privately communicate with each other. (If there is only one Werewolf, she selects a center card, A, B, or C, to look at.)
Minion
is automatically notified who Werewolves are.
2.
Seer
may look at one player's card, or two center cards (A, B, or C).
3.
Robber
may take another player's card and replace it with his card, looking at his new card, effectively switching their alignments.
4.
Troublemaker
may switch cards of two other players without looking at those cards, effectively switching their alignments.

After resolving those choices (and notifying players that learn new information, the Seer, Robber, and the Troublemaker), Day will begin. It will have a set deadline of 7 real-life days. After the deadline hits, I will lock the thread, and every player will send me a PM voting for another player. The player with the most votes (and more than one vote) dies. If multiple players tie for the most votes, all tied players die. If no one receives more than one vote, no one dies. (There are some situations and win conditions that may call for this.)

At any time, a player may VOTE: Nightfall. If all players have done so, the day will end early and we will move to the voting stage.

The
Werewolf
team wins if and only if no Werewolves are killed. (Alternatively, if there are no Werewolves, but there is a Minion, the Minion wins if
any other player dies
.)
The
Villager
team wins depending on the situation:
1. If there is at least one Werewolf, the Villager team wins if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf (because both Werewolf cards are in the center), the Villager team wins if and only if
no one
dies.

Special Note:
The Robber and Troublemaker cards have the power to change your role and alignment without you knowing it! It is
very
important for you to figure out who has these roles (if anyone even does!) if they have affected you. You may start with a Werewolf card, but if the Robber takes your card,
you
are now a Robber and win with the Villagers!

Role PMs

There are 10 cards (roles) in this game. All 7 players will receive one, and 3 cards will be in the "center of the table", not assigned to any player.
  • 2 Werewolves
  • 1 Minion
  • 1 Seer
  • 1 Robber
  • 1 Troublemaker
  • 1 Hunter
  • 3 Villagers

2 Werewolves
Werewolf Role PMYou are a
Werewolf
. You are on the
Werewolf
team.
[
_________
has also started the game with a werewolf card. You may
not
privately communicate with that player. / No other player has a Werewolf card at the start of the game. You may view one of the cards in the middle of the table - card A, B, or C.
Which one do you view?
]

You win if and only if no Werewolves are killed.

1 Minion
Minion Role PMYou are the
Minion
. You are on the
Werewolf
team.
[
________
(and
________
) has/have / No one has] started the game with a werewolf card. [They do not know that you have a Minion card.]

You win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if no werewolves die.
2. If there are no other Werewolves, you win if and only if one other player (not you!) dies.

1 Seer
Seer Role PMYou are the
Seer
. You are on the
Village
team.
You may either: (1) look at any other player's card; or (2) look at two of the center cards (A, B, or C).
Which do you choose?

You win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf, you win if and only if
no one
dies.

1 Robber
Robber Role PMYou are the
Robber
. You are on the
Village
team (for now!).
You may choose any other player. You will swap cards with that player, without them knowing it. That player will now be on the Village team, and you will be on the team of the card you took. If that card has a night action, you will
not
take that action.
Who do you choose, if anyone?

If you are on the Village team, you win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf, you win if and only if
no one
dies.

(If you change teams on account of your role, you will adopt the win condition of that role.)

1 Troublemaker
Troublemaker Role PMYou are the
Troublemaker
. You are on the
Village
team.
You may choose any other two players. You will swap their roles without looking at them. The players who receive a different card are now the role (and team) of their new card, even though they don't know what that role is until the end of the game.
Who do you choose, if anyone?

You win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf, you win if and only if
no one
dies.

1 Hunter
Hunter Role PMYou are the
Hunter
. You are on the
Village
team.
You have no action tonight. However, if you are killed, you will kill whomever you are voting for.

You win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf, you win if and only if
no one
dies.

3 Villagers
Villager Role PMYou are a
Villager
. You are on the
Village
team.
You have no action tonight.

You win depending on the situation:

1. If there is at least one Werewolf, you win if and only if at least one Werewolf dies.
2. If no one is a Werewolf, you win if and only if
no one
dies.

Game-specific rules:

  • Don't be a jerk.
Discussions can get heated and sometimes people swear, and that's okay. That happens! But don't be a jerk. If you want to play a game and be a jerk, there are plenty of others on this site you can join.
I expect to enforce this rule if needed, and I expect I won't need to.
I reserve the ability to use any manner of tools to enforce this, including but not limited to warnings or forced replacements. I don't expect to involuntarily replace you unless you've been clearly warned, or the violation is particularly egregious.
Playing to win does not preclude being considerate to others.
  • This game will begin in Night, as discussed earlier. The one Day this game has will last 14 real-time days. This Deadline will not be extended except in extraordinary circumstances.
  • Players will not vote during the day. At any time, players may VOTE: Nightfall to bring about the end of the Day early. Only if this vote is unanimous will it pass.
  • At the end of the Day, I will lock the thread. All players will PM me the name of another player to vote. After I have received all votes, the player(s) with the most votes (and more than 1 vote) will be killed, and the game will be over. If no player receives more than 1 vote, no one is killed.
  • Please do not use or mimic the [ ooc ] tag. If I need to make edits in players' posts, I will use this tag.

If you want a quick rules recap, check out these videos:

The following actions have taken place in this order (if the said roles are in the game, and not in the middle of the table):
Role Resolution Order1.
Werewolves
are automatically notified who each other are, and may
not
privately communicate with each other. (If there is only one Werewolf, she selects a center card, A, B, or C, to look at.)
Minion
is automatically notified who Werewolves are.
2.
Seer
may look at one player's card, or two center cards (A, B, or C).
3.
Robber
may take another player's card and replace it with his card, looking at his new card, effectively switching their alignments.
4.
Troublemaker
may switch cards of two other players without looking at those cards, effectively switching their alignments.

Day begins.

The day will end in 14 days from this post at 10am Central US Time, or more precisely at
(expired on 2015-03-12 10:00:00)
, or earlier if all players vote for Nightfall.

HURT: Fuzzybutternut

Random Hurting Stage go!
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?

sns stop dodging. How is knowing if we've played the card game going to affect your reads?

For example

As seer I looked at Ikas card and saw it was village aligned
As robber i stole Not_Mafias card to make sure he lived up to his name
As troublemaker I swapped Ika and Not_Mafia
I'll give you a moment to let that sink in

If I told you that, then it wouldn't affect my reads since you could just counter it.
Anyways, RVS is over move on.

I'm a PR but will only claim after the Robber fully claims.

Anyone who disagrees with mass claim is a werewolf, because they can't nk so powerroles are safe, and by process of elimination we can confirm some town.

There is only werewolf motivation to refuse massclaim.

Sure eventually but i think 2 rounds of claiming is good so it's a lot harder to tailor a claim when there are hypoclaims While hypoclaiming locks in a PR result should a werewolf or minion choose to claim it (i.e by looking at an unused card or minion trying to jester it up)
I'll give you a moment to let that sink in
