As long as this or Game go today and the other tomorrow then I'm cool with it.

So me and the guy I would have hammered are both mafia?
No, that doesn't mean zilch. When a mafia member looks like on the chopping board, you vote to distance, even hammer to the extent of not looking too obvious.

That seems like an unnecessary Hail Mary for D1. Thus early in D1 at that.

Fully aware of that. However, the tone of this post makes it sound like these factions are quite big, considering it's a game of 9.
Mafia teams, Werewolves, Third Parties, will only be a max of one surely? To make town 50% of the game players.
Town has majority right now
So in reality, we could be looking at possibilities of 2 scum teams consisting of 1, with a third party, or 2 scum teams consisting of 2 without a third party, or possible one scum team consisting of 3/4.

Yes for first part, no for second. Why would scum hammer a partner this early?
There is not a time limit for scum to hammer a partner. I have seen a few games where someone has bussed his own partner, and he gets town credit from the off, and pretty much go the whole game without suspicion simply because of that 'phrase'. It gets thrown around much, especially if the partner being hammered only has a week scum PR where it's deemed worth throwing away.

Why would that be done in this game?
It can be done in any game, if there is a team of 2, in aid to distance from your buddy that is on the chopping board. You aren't going to sit and watch your buddy go down and defend him because when he is lynched later, and flips scum, they'll look at you defending him from being lynched before.
You bus in aid to distance so nobody looks at you in the same light if your defending him.
No I meant you would look more town as a scum person doing it earlier like you "tried" I still think you're making a big deal about "hammering" when you put them on L-1..
