Acting your town meta when scum

I really worry about folks who play a lot and end up intentionally acting to their scum meta (or intentionally blurring their towngame), as town, to increase their scum winrates or to make it harder to detect them as scum.

Honestly there have been a few games where I expected town I was facing to act as town as fuck -if they were town- but they instead acted (I discovered later) to a more androgynous (phrasing?) meta where it would be extremely difficult to read them either way.

It's the detaching from reality that I found difficult the one time I actually (technically) played as scum.
I find it extremely difficult to hold fast to a mindset of having a role which is inherently determined to frustrate players I know to be town.

Therefore I have to attempt to emulate my own meta, which doesn't work very well (and is, also, a LOT of work to think through and end up having the confidence to hit 'submit' on).
