As a reminder, doctorwho gets a chance to answer with a number. If he hits it dead on, he wins the square. If he doesn't, xofelf gets a chance to answer "higher" or "lower." If xof is right, she'll get the square and win the board, while if she's wrong, doctorwho will get the square, resulting in a cat's game.

Incorporating Hawaii and Alaska for fun, your question, doctorwho:

How many days passed between when Alaska became the 49th state and Hawaii became the 50th?

Educated guess...
230

Sorry for delay

That is the exact answer, and thus the board looks like this:

X
O
X
-
X
O
O
X
O

Gameboard 4 ends in a cat's game as well.

My suggestion is that we make each category a seasaw category, so you will keep giving answers until no one can.
I would also suggest sudden death, where we simply go with that until one person wins a board, and then they win the game.

My other suggestion would be to scrap Tic Tac Dough and play an entirely new game.

Since I'm changing the rules midswing, please let me know if either of those plans work for you, and if not, we'll discuss another alternative.

I'm thinking we scrap Tic-Tac-Dough and try something else; even with Seesaw categories, we might still be going on endlessly into eternity, judging by how things have been going.

As for the replacement? Blockbusters, maybe? The way the game's board is designed, you're guaranteed to get a winner eventually.
Another idea: Double Dare (no, not the Nickelodeon one).

EDIT: Never mind on Double Dare. I have no idea how you'd pull off the whole isolation booth thing on that one.

Apologies I'm still here. I'm trying to curb my MS usage so I'm not on as much as I was.

I think a new game is better. I will think on that and give an option for you two to approve and if so we will get started.

I am considering Blockbusters with some modifications.

The basic idea is that on a board full of hexes, if you get a question right, you get that hex. The goal is to either connect a line of hexes from left to right or top to bottom depending on what player you are.

Normally it's a 5 by 4 board (the champion has to only connect 4, or it switches). Each hex has a letter in it, the answer to the question starts with that letter.

I would probably make it 5 by 5 and do one round, this is sudden death. Normally this game requires buzzing in. I can do what they did in Bank Job, and roll a die to determine an answer, but I think I would rather just do this:

Both players must submit an answer in X amount of time. If both players get it right or wrong, no one gets it, but if one player knows it and the other does, they will get the hex. If one player answers and the other doesn't answer in time, the one that answers will get the hex. I'm going to try to keep things moving.

If neither get the hex, I will stay at that hex and keep asking questions that have an answer beginning with that letter. If 10 questions go by and it looks like I'm getting nowhere, I'll either switch to dice for buzzing in, or concede.

I'm game for it. Sounds like it might be a good alternative to this stalemate :)

As pointed out by JDGA the example board I showed isn't quite fair but it'll be 5 by 5 and rhomboid in shape.

I'm fine with that.
