I'm not cakes - but I'd have used the neighbor way differently. For instance - getting reads on people in a neighborhood environment has proven to be the best way to go about using them, for me. Also, once you've both obvtowned to each other then exchanging claims can be powerful.

Well it feels like we're closing in on them, so why wouldn't they try to end the day as soon as possible and end discussion? I also don't believe a scum Rolecop would have targeted a town you. It would have been much easier for scum to just kill you and eliminate one of the town leaders. Chances are probably pretty decent that they have something that can bypass protection.

Hard to get my footing in this game because it's composed almost entirely of people who play in a way that's been historically tricky for me to get reads on.
And I've had scumreads that I've yet to get flips on - it feels like day 1 to me still because I compromised. Which I'm never doing again because screw that noise.
