SETUP

This game utilizes the Modified Greatest Idea Mafia Setup by Aronis and Prof Fridays, based on the Great/Greater/Greatest Idea Setups by ChannelDelibird and the attendees of various MafiaScum meets.

In the setup, all players are dealt five roles along with a modifier from the modifier list. The player will choose two roles for his alignment and two roles for his power, discarding one role entirely. As in any Mafia game, this "power" could be nothing, e.g.

Vanilla Townie

is Town-aligned with no special power.

Mafia Goon

is Mafia-aligned with no special power. The modifier they get will be included with their final role. The moderator will then randomize his 2 choices for alignment and power to create a role from them.

Initial roles will be distributed shortly. Please PM me with any questions.

, so as to prevent gaming of the system or an unequal probability of a player drawing a role based on something as trivial as "whether or not I pulled theirs from the list first" - nobody wants to get mostly VTs just because they signed up last.

Also, just so everyone is prepared for this eventuality, I will have to reroll a game that is all Town-aligned or that could become so with a single lynch (think about that criteria however you choose). So anybody who rolled Scum of any kind - I advise you to choose something scummy. That makes for more enjoyable games anyway!

I don't think you can infer much from the discard. In my case you can just let guess that I assumed that Flubber had a boring role and didn't want to end up the same.

Now, that you explain it, I can see how it could be useful for us to have a confirmed town as a tree stump ?

I am not familiar with this setup but if I was tree stump, I don't think my identity would be revealed when I choose to be tree stump making the role even less powerful ?

Am I wrong ?

You didn't want to be werewolf or FBI Agent ? Or you got better roles ? The problem is that the setup uses cards for roles OR alignment so there are quite a lot of possibilities.

As for me, I didn't get an FBI discard. I got a bus driver. I didn't want to be scum, and I didn't see how being a bus driver benefited town besides screwing with their Night actions.

My discard should be more than enough to make me the towniest one here.
