Game Name: House M.D. Mafia!
Game Type: Closed
Game Size: 9 Players
Bastard?: [Yes/No - some mechanics that apply to bastard games include "cults, mid-game alignment changes, moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated (for example, Godfather, Tailor, Miller, Ninja, and mechanics like that are generally fine, but telling someone they are a reflexive doctor when they're actually a PGO is not), secret win conditions, un-divulged non-randomness in player role/alignment generation, direct moderator influence during the game"] No bastards.
Hydras Allowed?: [Yes/No] I will allow up to two hydras.
Other Restrictions?: [restrictions on experience, WOTC, etc., or just "None"] WOTC, WOTM.
Description: [link or describe any theme and mechanics pertaining to your game - flavor, deadlines, etc. this is also where you should list any reviewers or a backup/co-mod] This is a game based off House M.D. (This is my third time binge-watching it on Netflix.) This is a game where you're a doctor, and you need to make sure that you keep your job! Should you get "lynched" the board will fire you and you lose your medical license!

This is a game based off the television series, House M.D. In this game, your ability to find scum isn't the only thing on the line... Your ability to correctly diagnose and treat the patient may also save your job!
In this mafia game, there is no worry about being killed - only the loss of your job. The board has been made aware of horrendous crimes against the hospital that could possibly lose funding and medical certification. Each day period, the board of trustees will vote to terminate one doctor. During the night, those with interests to discredit Dr. Gregory House and those who protect him will try to frame doctors and have them fired.
But the board also favors doctors who are good at their jobs. I, the mod, will play as Doctor Gregory House. I will present to you each day period a new patient and their symptoms. All players will offer a suggestion and the recommended treatment. (Ex: "I believe this is autoimmune. I'd put the patient on steroids.") If your suggestion would help the patient, you would be considered a "liked" doctor for the day. This means that it will require an extra vote to terminate you that day period. However, if your recommendation ends up hurting the patient, you will be considered "hated" and it will take one less vote to terminate you.
The patient's condition will be updated with each vote count. You won't be able to stack your likes or dislikes (Meaning you're either liked or hated, not double liked or double hated.) However, these rules should be noted:
- Three rights equal correctly diagnosing a patient.
- Three wrongs equal killing your patient.
For the first doctor to completely diagnose the patient (these may be hard, but not full-on zebras), it will require three quarters vote of the doctors to lynch you, rounded down. (Ex: With eight players, it would take six to terminate.)
Any doctor who kills their patient will only require 25% of doctors to terminate.
Future rules to keep in mind:
- Only type of medicine or procedures will be needed. You can say, "I'll give my patient antibiotics." You don't have to say, "I'm giving my patient amoxicilin."
- You needn't worry about dosages. Assume that each administration of drugs will be the reasonable amount.
- If there are negative side-effects, assume that it's because you gave them the wrong medication - not that you gave them the wrong amount.
- You may ask two questions of the patient per vote-count period.
- You can perform one experimentation (either surgical procedure/medicine administration) per vote count period.
- You may choose not to administer medicine or do a surgery and instead, search through your patience's house for environmental factors. However, be warned that evidence you collect may be the key to your diagnosis or may have nothing to do with it.
- Anything that other doctors do is public knowledge. If another player, during his experimentation, learned that the patient does not have meningitis, you also know that.
- For the sake of making everything easier, don't worry about worrying about what others doctors do that would afflict your patient. If a different doctor prescribes a certain kind of medication, don't worry about prescribing a conflicting kind of medication. For the purposes of this game, what you do to your patient is only based on what you do.
- The diagnoses will most likely be something you've heard of before. You won't hear "Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis" But staph infection, pneumonia, and mold exposure exist within the realm of possibility.
- Any questions on what you're allowed to do, ask me.
