And I forgot to follow up on the proposal for a rule change from the last contest, the one about changing the punishment for not voting. I didn't know that was the way the contests used to be run, and it makes sense that going back to that system would water down the punishment to where it might not be as effective. Plus there aren't that many cuts anymore with the deadlines shorter. So I think the rule is good where it is for now.

We're a little light on songs this contest, but we're going to keep the deadline at a week and a half.

Hungary (-+)

This is pretty darn catchy, and even though I don't particularly like it is probably going to be stuck in my head for a while... unless another song later on infects me instead. Nothing that really "wow"ed me to be honest, although it wasn't that bad overall.

Spain (+)

Pwuuuuh. Hmmmmm. That muffled voice in the background throughout various parts of the song irritates me badly for some reason. Ignoring that though this song was decent. At times the transitions between parts felt a bit odd but hey, I enjoyed it a little.

Republic of Palau (++)

I really liked this song, it's exactly the type of music I love and like to listen to. Although it's a little repetitive I found myself really getting into this song.

Central African Republic (-+)

The were some good parts in this song, though for the most part it was just... noise. The drums and the electric guitar being the main offenders there. The singing wasn't particularly good either. Rather meh overall.

Cote d'Ivore (-)

The singing in this one outright bothered me, all through-out it. Honestly really didn't enjoy this song.

Burkina Faso (-+)

The intro was dreadful until around 30 seconds in, my volume was a bit too loud as well there (rip ears). The rest of it was decent I guess though, until the -noise- returned.

Finland (+)

Also okay, liked this more than most others so far though.

Uruguay (-)

That guy isn't very good at singing. Maybe I need some drugs before listening though. Didn't feel anything for this one, didn't finish.

Iceland (+)

I'm not usually a fan of this genre of music, and hated the singing as such, the music in the background however was pretty great.

Seychelles (-+)

There were some good parts here, though it was a little bland for a track that lasts 7 minutes.

Sao Tome and Principe (+)

Not a large fan of jazz, this was okay I guess.

Latvia (++)

That singer's got a pretty darn good voice. Amazing. Really enjoyed this song, the only thing I disliked a bit was the guy playing the keys there but it was still a beautiful performance. (apparently that was all live as well!)

USA (++)

Although I like this a bit less than that last progressive rock song this is also pretty good. Someone give that drummer a medal.

Chad (++)

Another song I enjoyed, pretty good all in all. It had few parts that were eh on the other hand.

Don't particularly like rap songs, okay I guess.

Philippines (++)

The first non-rock song to get a "++" this competition so far from me! This one is well done.
