You don't need to buy anything except maybe a microphone. If you have a headset you use for gaming that will be enough.

OBS is what most people use and its free.

My friend Gaby actually did a brief how to for wizards:

I'm planning to post some specific tips and tricks for the gameplay in the next couple days. Some basic setup instructions are on the front page.

I'm still trying to decide between two lists. I'll try to make a decision tonight.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

Related, remember to sign up for Discord. One of the text channels in there is set up for scheduling, and it does preserve posts. You'll find that a lot more convenient than trying to track people down by PM or another platform. (Although I expect most games will be able to happen just by showing up at the scheduled streaming times.)

One OCTGN tip to help with building:

To be fair, the worst part of OCTGN is the deck editor. One of the more annoying parts is that any card you add to a deck just goes at the end of the list, which means if you start making changes you very quickly end up with a deck list that's disorganized and hard to read. Fortunately, there's a solution. If the entry is a single card, you can hold down the left mouse button and drag it up or down. If the entry has multiples of the same card, also hold down shift while clicking and dragging.

We'll be posting tips for using the play module (which is pretty good) before games start.

Here are a few OCTGN tips:
  • In general, learn to use the keyboard shortcuts. They’re great. You can find out what they are by right-clicking relevant places(your deck, a card, the table). If there's not a keyboard shortcut for something, you should be able to find what you're trying to do by searching the right-click menus

  • Make sure that you click on the play button next to your opponent when you’re done with your turn.

  • Number one in-game tip: Shift-drag from a card to another card to make an arrow. Great for targeting, as you don’t have to use chat. Also great for blocking. Also, if you just shift-click a card without dragging, it adds a target symbol to it.

  • Shift-drag a card from your hand to the table to keep it face down.

  • F1 moves to your upkeep and untaps everything you control. Good for making it clear you’re done doing things on your opponent’s end step.

  • If you drag a card to the bottom of your deck image, it will put it on the bottom of your deck. If you put it near the top of the deck image, it will put it on the top of your deck.

  • You can use auto-counter and auto-token to save some time when creating tokens from a card or putting counters on something.

  • If you don’t use auto-token and you use the menu, if you make multiple tokens, they’ll be stacked on top of each other. Drag them off of the stack so it's clear how many there are.

  • The edges of the table will stretch if cards are played too near them, and it starts to get hard to tell what’s going on quickly, which is a problem for coverage.

You can also add notes to cards so that it's clear what your Meddling Mage is blocking. Most cards also have auto-resolve effects if you use the stack (double-click from your hand), or if you use their programmed abilities (ctrl+Z) while hovering. For example, if you use the ability menu on an Elspeth, Sun's Champion, it'll automatically put a loyalty counter and create three tokens without having to futz around with the sub-menus.

If anyone else is a certified judge, please let us know. Having extra people available to take judge calls is always helpful.
