{ROUND 08: BRAWL}

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon

This is a game popular throughout the internet, and has been casually played on MS a few times in the past. It's a simple premise, but a tough one to master.

GAME RULES

To play Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, you will be provided with the names of two actors/actresses. Your task is to find the shortest chain of degrees possible to connect the two actors in the shortest amount of time.

For example, if the two given actors were Jimmy Stewart and Tom Hanks, the following chain would work.

Jimmy Stewart was in The Big Sleep with Joan Collins.
Joan Collins was in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas with Stephen Baldwin.
Stephen Baldwin was in The Flyboys with Tom Sizemore.
Tom Sizemore was in Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks.

That would be a chain of four degrees.

For this challenge, you and your partner will work together in a private topic. When you are ready to begin, you will be given a list of

eight pairs

, starting your time. You will work together to find the shortest chain possible for each pair. You may not use the same actor or movie more than once in the same chain. You may not use TV shows or music videos as part of a chain - only movies listed in a person's Wikipedia filmography are applicable. Only acting credits apply, so credits for producing or directing cannot be used as part of a chain.

You may only use Wikipedia as a resource.

The team with the lowest total degrees from all the chains put together will win the Brawl, and the losing team will be eliminated. In the event of a tie, the fastest time will win.

There's like a 95% chance we're getting eliminated (PrivateI? Perfect score in 15 minutes. Me? Who knows what score-wise in almost two hours), but I'm pretty happy with what I was able to manage all the same.

And she's right. pablito and Radja manage a game with the shortest possible chains, while Monty and mastin do not. And thus they are eliminated.
