GAME RULES

This challenge will take place at a time when all of your team members can be online, and the challenge will last a maximum of

two hours

.

Your team will be working to figure out

eight formulas.

At the start of the challenge and up to every three minutes thereafter, the team captain can give two numbers to put into a formula. You will then be given the output of those two numbers into the formula you are working on.

For example, let's say the following formula exists:

• Formula #1 is determined by arranging every digit in the two given numbers together from highest to lowest.

If the team captain provided the numbers 12 and 18, the team would receive the following results:

• Formula #1: 12 ? 18 = 8,211

Every three minutes, the team captain must make a guess at the rule of a formula, at the same time the next combination of numbers is given. If you give a correct guess, the two numbers given will be put into the next formula. If at any point you wish to pass on the current formula and move onto the next one, say PASS with the post giving two numbers instead of making a guess, and those two numbers will be put into the next formula in line. Once you've reached the end of the eight formulas, we will begin to cycle back through the formulas you passed on. If at any point during the challenge, you wish to make a guess at a formula you have already passed on, you can make a guess at it by surrendering your guess on the current formula you're working on. Do this by noting "Guess at Formula #" followed by your guess.

The rule for a formula can involve as many as three steps, and you must guess all of the rule completely for it to count as correct.

You may use a calculator for this challenge, but no other outside sources are allowed.

This challenge will have a time limit of

two hours

, after which the challenge will end. The team that gets the most formulas correct with the fewest number of inputs will win, and be safe from going into the Brawl. Since only two veterans and two rookies remain on each team, all members of the losing team will enter the Brawl.

Partner selection for the final round will not take place until the Brawl has been completed. Details of final partner selection will be revealed then.

okay. but just so everyone is clear I'm out of town Friday the 23-January 2nd and doing anything live will become very, very difficult.

Yeah I have no idea when this is going to happen. New Year's weekend is definitely out, and if it's during the week, literally the only window that works is like 9-11 PM Central.

When is 9 to 11 in normal people hours? I work from 2-10 EST if I remember people's schedules this would be best on a Sunday-Monday. I could do after fine

It's 10 PM to midnight Eastern, though.

(And it can be up to an hour or so later if necessary, I'll just stay up later if I have to. I can't really promise anything significantly earlier with my work schedule, though.)

Ok I filled out the form assuming it was for Eastern Time.

It's possible I'll be around at some point over the weekend, but I won't know exactly when until at least tomorrow evening.

I'm gonna assume you don't want me trying to do a live challenge at work and fill this out accordingly

Zor can't do it until the 2nd anyways so we might have to wait longer, basically I'm super free sunday/monday and then i guess i could get up super early or start after 10pm but also god please not the morning

For Sunday I think I put I'd be available after 7PM Eastern but now it's probably going to be more like 3-4 PM.

Otherwise 10pm Eastern on a weekday would work
