I deduce that a mass nameclaim would work here. I don't want to know everyone's role--just what name they are. I believe we'll end up screwing the Nazgul up, unless there are some unorthodox names.

Khelvaster, have you considered that scum were given safe-claims? If so, even without role-claiming, name-claiming could be enough to out certain power-roles.

No, it's not OMGUS. I'm sure at least one person knows why I'm doing this. I think you're scummier than Khelvaster because it's pretty pro town to suggest a name claim, but not so pro town to put a second vote on someone who seems to know that a name claim will get our pro town roles killed. So I'll say this: Whoever's the doc, protect Khelvaster. Whoever's the cop, investigate Khelvaster.

I'm not part of the Fellowship. That's shouldn't be surprising, as the game would be seriously broken if the town was only the Fellowship. So it's likely all a mass claim would accomplish is give the mafia clues to who our power roles are.

I've gotten too much attention to myself. I have a feeling that I'm going to be night killed so let's try to get as much as we an from this day. I assume any suspicion towards me is gone now, and CoolBot is probably safe as soon as the remaining vanilla townies arrive.

To all vanillas: be VERY careful about how much you reveal from your pm. We can use this info to prove innocence later on.

I'm not sure what a mass name-claim would accomplish. A name-claim would only be good if we assume that

a) all named people in the fellowship are town.
c) all 9 names in the fellowship have been used.

Anyway, since I really don't think 9 power roles would be appropriate, and giving a player a fellowship name but making him vanilla townie is pretty stupid, I think it's more likely that there are only as many fellowship members here as power roles, and claiming any name would mark you as a probable power role.

I'm not even going to consider the possibility of the mod making a fellowship member scum. That's just way too headachey for me to think about.

I'm not sure what to think on this whole name-claim argument, but I don't think it's a good idea on Day 1.

Actually, I think if we're going to do it, the earlier the better. But we've already heard that at least two players have non-fellowship role names and I'd be surprised if scum haven't been given safe claims anyway, which makes me cynical to how effective it would be.

Matt_S, you sound a little paranoid. I don't think you should have voted for me, but if you still feel it's worthwhile can you tell us why?

I really doubt that a name-claim is going to solve anything. We already know that there are people outside of the fellowship, and I don't want to give the mafia any more information than we have. If the members of the fellowship are the power roles, we could out them all at once for the mafia to pick off.
