All moves should be made with the intent of improving your team. Collusion is not acceptable.

Rosters and Scoring:

Last year, rosters were 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 7 BN, 2 IR; Scoring was Yahoo! standard, half PPR.
Like last year, I'm hoping to set up a Google Forms poll in the coming weeks to decide potential rule changes. Rules for scoring, rosters, and other things may be changed based on the results of this poll. If you'd like to suggest a rule change, suggest it in this thread and I will include it as long as you get at least one person to co-sign. (Rules poll is HERE.)

League Setup:

We will have one or more leagues of 8, 10, 12, or 14 depending on the number of players signing up (with League 1 having 12 players if at all possible). Invites will go out to the previous year's participants based on order of finish, in order to form League 1. The order of finish being used to determine this is in this post. (NOTE: We will instead use this post if L2 is only eight players.)
Around early-mid August, I will fill League 1 and assign remaining players to League 2 (and 3, if needed). After that, each league will open a Whenisgood or similar and use that to determine when their draft will occur.
Don't start a league to "help out". I will select a commish for L2 (and L3 if we have one) once I know who is going to be in each one.

Btw I’m still looking for potential rules things that we should put up to a vote this year.

My list of things right now is:

• Continue to guarantee a playoff berth for the leading team in each division/see what we can do about end of season tiebreakers
  
• Lower the number of playoff teams in leagues of 8 or 10 people
  
• Adjust promotion/relegation order for seasons where L2 (and L3) are less than 12 people

If you have anything else you’d like us to vote on, just suggest it here and I’ll add any proposal that gets a 2nd. I know that changing playoff seeding order was suggested last year but I don’t think Yahoo gives us the power to actually manipulate that. Plan is to put up the rules poll probably late next week.

Had some free time so I wrote down what all I wanted to make sure was in this year's voting ballot options. A good chunk of this has been in the previous ballots, but I do not think its 100% the same. There are a few things missing and or new. I will utilize tags so my post does not take up too much room

How do we handle Field Goal Scoring?

A. 0.1 for each yard (The shortest possible field of 17-yard field goal would be 1.7 points)
B. 3 points for kicks between 1-39 yards, 4 points for 40-49 yards, 5 points for 50-59, etc.
C. Combine the above, so 3 points for 1-30 yards, then add 0.1 for each additional yard. Can this even be done with yahoo?

Should you lose points for missed extra points and or field goals?

(I am actually not sure what setting we had for this last year so I would appreciate someone fact checked this)

Should negative total points for a position be allowed?

A. Yes, you picked a player that played poorly so you deserve whatever points he gets even if it’s a negative total.
B. No, 0 is the least you can get from a starter. Afterall if you started no one you would get a 0 and since you at least started someone, you should not get below a 0 for any starter.

How do we handle who wins a division?

A. “Season Record” is strongest tie breaker followed by “Division Record” and then “Scoring” then “Face to Face.”

How should we handle playoff seeding at the START of the playoffs?

Anything you can get a co-sign on I’ll add to the poll. I don’t want to add things for the sake of adding them if there isn’t a sense that there’s at least some amount of interest in them. Especially for the things you’d like us to vote on that weren’t particularly close the last time we asked about them.

I know from your suggested questions that
1) Nothing can be done about the postponed game question
2) Field goal scoring option C isn’t possible
3) Nothing can be done about the divisional tiebreaker question

If there is no means to change a division winner (it's got to be Season Record > Division Record > Scoring) then we can just eliminate that question and replace it with one that just handles tie breakers in general since I know there are settings about that in yahoo. And I was able to luck into a situation last year where I had an advantage because of our current tie breaker / playoff settings. And some players were kinda screwed by our current settings last year too. So if we do not put something about that in the poll, what's stopping people from taking advantage of it again? What's stopping some teams from getting screwed again?

As far as postponed games go, yahoo did add settings that help out in situations where games actually are postponed because of covid. They do exist I have seen them used in other leagues. Would these settings have helped in situation where a game was canceled during the game? No, and I personally do not think they are needed since Covid is kinda over, BUT I felt starting the conversation was necessary in case people wanted them. Though if no one seconds this then it is fine to leave this off the ballot.

Anything that was in last year's ballot that got low or no support we can leave off the ballot, BUT things never in the ballot should get consideration. I'm honestly not sure if the field goal scoring changes we made last year were good or bad so I do want a vote on that even if C is not possible. We can just choose between A or B only if that's the case.

Also I would appreciate you going through what I wrote and fact checking in case I am wrong about what current settings we used last year. I honestly cannot remember if we lost points or not for missed field goals for example

Get someone to co-sign if you want me to add them. I’ve made it clear both this and last season what I’m expecting to put something into the poll, and there wasn’t much discussion of it last season while it was theoretically directly affecting things.

And you’ll need to point me towards the postponement settings. I don’t think I saw them when I was looking through.
