Setup Info

TemporalLich's Grandest Idea uPick is a uPick setup based off of the Grand Idea Mafia thread. You will need to submit

four

picks from the Grand Idea Mafia thread when signing up. Picks should ideally be sent as post numbers. Picks must be sent via PM to me.

Your first pick is a

Town

pick, which must be either Town or Mod Discretion aligned. If a Mod Discretion role is picked for your Town pick, it is guaranteed to be Town-aligned.

Your second pick is a

Groupscum

pick, which must be either aligned with a groupscum team (such as Mafia) or Mod Discretion aligned. If a Mod Discretion role is picked for your Groupscum pick, it is guaranteed to be groupscum aligned.

Your third pick is a

Free Space

pick, which may be of any alignment.

Your fourth pick is a

Mod Discretion

pick, which may be of any alignment but the picked role will have the alignment be up to moderator discretion.

If you fail to submit a pick or your pick is vetoed, it will be replaced with a Mod Discretion Vanilla.

Game-breaking or unfun roles may be vetoed. Roles that massively change the setup may also be vetoed.

Mason Feasibility Clause and XeLo Normality Clause apply.

Like with any Grand Idea Mafia game, balance is very not guaranteed and the game is mechanically and procedurally bastard. Expect anything and everything.

Hydras are allowed but limited - one hydra with no size limit and two extra hydras with a combined size limit of pi*2 are allowed.

General

-Adhere to all site rules.
-Always play to win.
-Remember that this is a game - heated discussion is allowed, but personal attacks are not.
-If someone is being toxic and making the game unfun for you, please let the moderator know.
-Pretending to break the rules will be treated similarly as actually breaking the rules.
-Do not quote any out of game communication regarding this game - this includes but is not limited to your role PM, any PTs you have access to, and any other PMs I may send you.
-If you need to get my attention, please include "

-Do not use encryption, hidden text or excessively small text in your posts.
-Do not use any form of provable randomness. This includes dice tags, screenshots of random.org, etc. Saying you flipped a coin is okay, providing some sort of proof that you did isn’t.
-Day 1 will last for 14 days and all further days will last for 10 days, with night phases lasting 48 hours.
-Everyone can agree to a Fast Night to end the night earlier.
-Do not post in the game thread or any private topics following your death, with the exception of the dead thread. You may post a single contentless "Bah!" post however.
-If you have the ability to edit your posts, do not do so.
-My decisions are final. If I feel you are violating any of the rules, I will take the appropriate action.
-Speculating about why people replaced out is considered angleshooting and is discouraged.
-Try to spoiler animated GIFs and videos. Using images or videos as "serious" content is discouraged.
-Do not use the L-word. Alternatives include eliminate, exile, and execute.
-As a general principle, whenever moderator action is required I will attempt to make the decision that has the least impact on the natural flow of gameplay. For example, force replacing instead of modkilling whenever possible.
-Have fun!

Voting

-All votes and unvotes must be in

bold

or in VOTE: vote tags, with vote tags being preferable.
-Votes in spoilers and quotes will not be counted.
-Abbreviations and nicknames are acceptable, as long as I can understand them.
-Exiles will occur when a majority (>50%) is reached. If no majority is reached before deadline, the day will end in a no elimination.
-Voting to end the day in a no-exile requires only 50% of players, not >50%.
-Once a hammer has occurred, the game is in "twilight". Discussion may continue until I lock the thread but no further votes or unvotes will be counted.

Activity

-You are expected to make at least one game-relevant post every 48 hours. Players who go 48 hours without posting will be prodded.
-If you are prodded, you have 24 hours to post in-thread. If you do not respond within 24 hours, you will be replaced. Additionally, if I have to prod you 3 or more times, you will be replaced at my own discretion.
-Abuse of prod dodges will result in you being replaced at my own discretion.
-If you are going to be V/LA, please announce it in thread or PM me. If your V/LA will last 7 days or longer I may be forced to replace you. You may declare periodic V/LA (e.g. weekend V/LA).
-If you do not send me an action for the night, I will assume that you are not taking one.

Game Notes

-This is a Grand Idea Mafia game with a uPick style of assigning roles.
-Everyone must submit a

-Free Space roles can be of any alignment.
-Mod Discretion roles can be of any alignment, however the role's alignment will be overwritten with the Mod Discretion alignment.
-If you fail to submit a pick or your pick is vetoed, it will be replaced with a Mod Discretion Vanilla.
-Game-breaking or unfun roles may be vetoed. Roles that massively change the setup may also be vetoed.

-Scum know each other's roles and may submit actions via PT.
-Everyone has inherent multitasking, unless a specific role overrides this. (they may use a personal and a factional action. Using multiple personal actions requires the Multitasking modifier)
-Scumteams are informed fully, they know each other's roles and may submit actions via PT.
-The setup is guaranteed to contain at least 2 players aligned with one scumteam and more Town than scum.
-Duplicates are not rerolled.
-Groupscum with alive partners can't have their alignment changed by default. Alignment changes will fail by default if either the target or performer die that Night.
-Third Party wins do not end the game by default.
