Balancing nightstart setups

There are a lot of setups from mafia.gg and EpicMafia that are very fun to play and that I could see being interesting when played on MS, but a lot of them are nightstart. How does one go about balancing these setups while making sure that the setups are still fun to play and retain the spirit of the original setup?

Add a Day 1 Universal Backup? Main idea is to make it so all roles survive to the first night. Only issue is if a scum gets voted out D1 it basically puts the scumteam at a massive disadvantage

n0 investigations can be replaced with Informed

n0 protections/kills can be simulated by adjusting the amount of players

n0 recruitment can be done by just adding an extra Cultist to the setup
