I tend to believe that death is predetermined anyway, so knowing the method won't help me avoid it... if I'm meant to die in a feak chainsaw accident, that's how I'm going to die even I'd i never use a chainsaw... one will end up falling from the sky or something.

Time is one of those things that barely functions for me tbh, there's now and not now. And knowing the when, it's something i could just... not obsess over really. When lets me make sure I have everyone I care about taken care of instead of suddenly leaving and all the everything left behind. It lets you have time to say goodbye. It lets you make sure the memories are good ones as much as possible. Also if you know when, then it also allows you to take more risks you might not have out of fear of death because you know it's not that day yet, so have at it. Knowing the method would add more anxiety that I don't need in my life, I already have enough things that freak me out. I don't need to constantly wonder WHEN will this thing happen, because if that's how it is, then there's no avoiding it, not really. It will find you evenutally.

my logic is that if you get a really horrible method of death, you're going to live the rest of your life in fear of it, even if it's still 50-60 years away. At least if you get a bad time of death you don't have to live with that for very long? Both are terrible, it's just minimising the bad effect it will have on you.

Way I see it if I know the time I'll react to it, get out what I can and appreciate the soft invulnerability (assuming it's not changeable) before my time is up. With method I'd be terrified of any result except old age, obsess over it and ultimately cause what kills me. And what if it's a really grizzly method, I'd just be like "that's how I end?" or worse something banal like "slipped in the shower" or "car accident" I'm not gonna live as a shut in or not shower.
