The darkness plunged the group into chaos. The three arches of light beckoned, and the group split almost immediately, mob psychology taking over as feet made the final decision. Six fled to Pathos, feeling around with their hands. Once those six were beyond the arch, the door closed behind them with a loud bang, and the lights came on.
They were standing in a corridor. The lights hummed with a pained groan. Together, the six walked down the corridor. At first, they saw nothing, but as they drew closer, a light began to appear at the end. They headed towards it.
The room that sat at the other end of the corridor was square in size. It was large, but not grandly so: at a rough estimate, it could have been one hundred metres both ways. There was all sorts of machinery filling the floor and on the walls, giving off a scientific field. In the middle lay a raised platform. A man was standing on it, facing away from the corridor. The six slowly walked towards him, cautious in the situation.

The man turned around instantly. The six could now clearly see the face of

"I was hoping to get a bit more time here. Oh well." He pressed a button on the console behind him. Suddenly, the machines began to rise, humming as they did. Telltale lights flashed on and off. A glass lid on the podium rose, revealing a dial and a big, red button.
"I'll see you later. If you're still around."
