Greetings!

Here is how you play:

You start with 5 HP.

Each turn, send me a private message in which you cast a spell (and pay its cost):

Spoiler: Neutral Spells

Channel (0):

Gain 1 fire, water, earth, or air mana.
[-----------------------------------]
Forcefield (0):

Take 1 less damage this turn.


Spoiler: Fire Spells
[-----------------------------------]
Fireball (1 fire):

Deal 1 damage.
[-----------------------------------]
Fire Wall (1 fire):

Any enemy that damages you this turn takes 1 damage.

Inferno (2 fire):

Deal 2 damage.


Spoiler: Water Spells

Meditate (1 water):

Gain 1 fire, 1 earth, and 1 air mana.

Ice Wall (1 water:)

Target an enemy. If they deal damage to you this turn, the damage is redirected to themselves instead.

Frostbolt (2 water):

Deal 1 damage. The target deals 2 less damage to you this turn.

Stone Skin (1 earth):

Block all incoming damage.

Healing Wave (1 earth):

Heal yourself for 1 health.

Nature's Wrath (2 earth):

Deal 1 damage to everyone, including yourself.

Gust (1 air):

Target two enemies. Their damage is redirected to each other.

Lightning Bolt (1 air):

Target an enemy. If they channel this turn, deal 2 damage.

Tornado (2 air):

Redirect all incoming damage to a target.

Steam Blast (1 fire, 1 water):

Deal 1 damage. This damage cannot be blocked, reduced, or redirected, does not trigger firewall, and is resolved before healing.

Meteor (1 fire, 1 earth):

Deal 1 damage. Destroy all earth mana.
[-----------------------------------]
Curse (1 fire, 1 air):

Deal 1 damage. The target cannot be healed for the rest of the game.

Purify (1 water, 1 earth):

Heal yourself 2 HP.
[-----------------------------------]
Tsunami (1 water, 1 air):

2 of the following, randomly -
| Heal self 1 | deal 1 damage | reduce incoming damage 2 | gain 1 water mana | Destroy all fire mana |

Mind control (1 earth, 1 air):

You choose the target's action this turn. You cannot make them target themselves with a damaging spell.


Action resolution:
Mind Control > Mana Generation >Steam Blast > Tornado/Gust > Mind Control Targeting > Defense/Healing > Ice Wall > Damage > Mana destruction effects


Exception A) If an infinite loop of redirects is created, the damage redirected in this way will whiff.

Exception B) If damage is redirected to more than 1 target, the damage will whiff.

Exception C) Tornado trumps Gust.

Exception D) If 2 players mind control each other, or if there is a circle of mind controls, all mind controls in the circle whiff.

you start with no mana, but everyone will channel turn 1.

Meteor destroys all earth mana. all of it.


Also, I made a few minor changes: buffed mind control, buffed tornado, buffed tsunami.

what's the deal with deadlines here? never played in a mish-mash game before so this is a bit foreign to me. should our first actions be sent before the gamestart or by another deadline afterwards?
i no longer strictly go by they/them and honestly prefer she/her but they/them's fine if you're used to it i guess

i mean you can send in your first action now if you want, I'll take it, but the deadlines will be until everyone sends in their action. If someone's taking too long, I'll give them about 48 hours.

Three questions:
Does Tornado redirect damage that would be dealt to you, damage that would be dealt to a separate target, or all damage?
Ditto for Tsunami's "deal 1 damage" effect; who does it target?
How do redirect spells interact?

Examples for the last question:
A targets B with Fireball. B targets A with Ice Wall. C targets A and D with Gust.
E targets F with Fireball. F targets E and G with Gust. G targets E with Ice Wall.
H targets I with Fireball. I targets J with Tornado. J targets H and K with Gust.
L targets M with Fireball. M targets L and N with Gust. N targets M with Tornado.
O targets P with Fireball. P targets Q with Tornado. Q targets O with Ice Wall.
R targets S with Fireball. S targets R and T with Gust. T targets R and S with Gust.
U targets V with Fireball. V targets W with Tornado. W targets V with Tornado.

tornado redirects all damage that you would normally take to another target of your choice.
Ditto for Tsunami's "deal 1 damage" effect; who does it target?
when you choose tsunami, you send me a target, in case it rolls damage.

How do redirect spells interact?
