Does the game tell you if a boss won't move? This is a seize, so there's no way he would, but it doesn't hurt to check.
Also, I believe that mercenary has an Antitoxin that Colm can steal. Anything else special about him?

Vanessa E5N1 equip Iron, assuming this makes her too slow to double hit the mercenary. Otherwise E6N1.
