Name Game! SECOND EDITION!
Player Size: Unlimited
How it Works: Everyone is assigned another player. Think of a person/character, real or fictional, and tell everyone but that player. That player's job is to guess the person. It should be someone that the player could reasonably guess without Google (which should not be used).
After that's done, everyone goes in a circle and takes turns asking yes/no questions. If the answer is yes, you can keep asking questions. If the answer is no, your turn is over and it goes to the next person. Since everyone knows who that player's character is, anyone can answer, which should streamline the process by quite a bit. If the answer is truly ambiguous, then it might be best to either defer to the player who came up with the character.
Once you guess your character, I'll add it to a list with how many turns you took or something. At this time, I'll give 24 hours (short period of time since people correctly guessing should be a somewhat common occurrence) and anyone who wants to join in, including the person who correctly guessed, can do so and we'll add them to the circle.
Thoughts?

Here's the list of players. The player below you (in yawetag's case, Tatsuya) is the player you are giving a character to. Let everyone but that person the name of your character. PMs are probably best, but just as long as everyone else knows. I'll use this post to automatically keep track of everyone's characters based on whether I get PMs, and random will just have to go through the trouble of saying something in the thread.
While we're waiting for all of that business to happen, a question to you all-- we have quite a few players. Do you think that everyone should be allowed to ask a question whenever they want, and the way success is determined is minimizing the amount of no's (functionally equivalent to the irl game, where getting the least no's makes you the fastest), or should we strictly define turns where only one player is allowed to ask questions (actually equivalent to the irl game)?Last edited by Errantparabola on Wed Apr 12, 2017 3:27 pm, edited 3 times in total.did another ms user do something lovely? recognize their achievements here!

you could run rounds of questions (everyone asks one then waits until they all have been answered before asking another) and the least questions it takes winsIn post 15, Errantparabola wrote:

I like that idea. I'd still like to roll with the idea of being able to continue asking questions if the answer is yes, so rounds could be just up until everyone hits a no answer.
Also, would yall want something in place for when you actually don't know who the character is? when I played this game, we would just give each other hints and if they didn't know it, they'd give up and look at the post it.
pedit-- yeah, random exactly.
real edit-- the # of people assigned is in the list of players.did another ms user do something lovely? recognize their achievements here!

lets assume half of the players will definitely know who their character is. after half of the people have successfully guessed their character, if they have no idea who it is then they have the option to give up.In post 21, Errantparabola wrote:I like that idea.
