MS Plays FE: Sacred Stones (Chapter 4 - MONSTERS?!)

Hey all! As mallowgeno lays out in this thread, this will be a "Twitch-plays-Pokémon"-style playthrough of the
Fire Emblem
series' easiest entry for the GameBoy Advance:
Sacred Stones
! Chock full of a metric crap-ton of characters, all of whom are acceptable for use from beginning to end (unlike in some of the
other
games...)
Sacred Stones
should be a fun, relatively painless way to jump in for anybody who's not familiar with
Fire Emblem
and its conventions or with the "Twitch-plays"-style of gaming. If you already know the basics of that style and are familiar with the
Fire Emblem
games, skip ahead to the
TL;DR Rules
.

Basically, you'll make posts with commands for specific characters which I'll feed into an emulator on my computer which is running the game. You can do it in any format, but the style we ended up liking and using in the old thread was N/S/E/W for the cardinal directions and either post "Colm - SSSWWW" or "Colm - S3W3", or something similar. (Those examples will both be taken to mean "Colm goes South 3 then West 3" as shown in the images below.) If you are familiar with the
Fire Emblem
games, skip ahead to the
TL;DR Rules
.

Image Image Image

For those who don't know, in
Fire Emblem
you control members of a small militia or army under the command of a Lord (or a group of Lords) and you direct all of these characters around the battlefield to kill (or bargain with) enemies, to protect neutral third parties, and complete specific objectives like capture a castle gate or throne room.
Sacred Stones
begins with Princess
Eirika
and Prince
Ephraim
of
Renais
on the run after their kingdom falls overnight to a massive surprise invasion from a former ally - the
Grado Empire
. "Guide the royal heirs, Eirika and Ephraim, on their twin quest to rebuild Renais and discover the dark secret behind the war that has torn their homeland apart."

TO PLAYERS FROM THE OLD THREAD
:

Some things may be different; I wasn't able to use the same save file, as you know. Nobody died, and I'm fairly certain I got everything that needed getting - it was only 3 chapters after all. Shouldn't be a big deal.

TL;DR RULES FROM MY FINAL POST IN THE OLD THREAD
:
  • There is a 6-hour waiting period before moving another character if you just moved one.
  • There is a 12-hour waiting period before I start moving character(s) on my own if nobody else does. I'll only do this 4 times, after which point I'll put this on pause and take stock of interest.
  • I'll update the character stat spoilers in the next post at the end of every chapter, or after a character levels up / obtains a new item AND a poster asks for it to be updated. I'll always give small updates in posts if requested.
  • There is a 12-hour window during which you may post about World Map / Battle Preparations stuff before I move on to the next Chapter.

"With her bracelet recovered, Eirika sets out with renewed determination. Passing through the ancient forest Za’ha brings them close to Grado’s border.
As they near the town of Serafew, Eirika’s fears are assuaged by the lack of troops. But never-before-seen terrors crawl in the shadows of the trees."

Gilliam ought to be on the side.

I'd say ditch Neimi. Archers are hard to use even when they're really good, which I think I saw that Neimi is not.

Ah, also: if the whole "don't use Neimi" thing is a popular/lasting decision, in general I'm all for consigning units to oblivion, never to be used again in our playthrough. It would make things a lot easier on me if you guys want to do that with some of the many characters - Neimi wouldn't be
my
first choice, but KA makes a good point and this isn't my playthrough.

Thanks for doin this Maestro.

I'm down for what KA is saying. I usually don't mind archers but mages seem to be stronger in the long run anyway

Can we obliviate Ross, too?

Oh, for some reason I thought that you were saying to bench Gilliam. In that case, if I were playing the character other than Neimi I would bench would be Seth. Maybe I'd be stupid and completely count him out, but at the very least I still think it's worth it to hold off with him until at least one other unit promotes. Also, that way I don't have to get involved in the Ross fight yet.

Spoiler: Stat differences:
Eirika -1 level, +1 HP/Spd, -2 Luck
Seth N/A
Franz +1 level/Skill/Spd
Gilliam -1 level/HP/Skill/Spd
Vanessa +1 Skill, -1 HP/Spd/Luck
Moulder +1 level/Skill/Spd
Ross +2 level, This stats (and weapon/support) picture says it was removed on my end.
Garcia -1 level/HP/Str/Skill/Def/Res
Neimi +1 level/Str/Res
Colm N/A

Common misconception, that. Stat growths too low. Amelia great, everyone else? Lousy. (Apart from the mage, he's fine).

There's only 3 trainees though. Amelia is worth training I think, if we're going to make her a general she will replace Gilliam I'm sure

Ross stats = my fault, I re-uploaded after dropping his Door Key into the convoy but didn't update the links. I'll do that and post the update when I get home, but I waited to let the conversation happen and it hasn't really concluded yet but I'm inclined to drop Ross. I forgot (again) that we're not grinding, so really only Amelia is worth it - she's the only General available in the main game other than Gilliam and though she's hard I think we could manage training her.

I'll drop Neimi and Ross, agreed? Not sure how much we should use Colm in this Chapter, though...

Oh, for some reason I thought that there was a "hill" terrain that was different and less hindering than a mountain.

Franz S3W4, attack with Lance for the lower accuracy. For some reason I at least want to try to make Colm useful.

Gilliam - S3, waits
Franz - S3W4, attacks...
Franz hits Revenant (63%) with Lance (10/25)
Revenant hits Franz (59%) with Claw (20/22)
Franz kills Revenant (63%^2 = 39.7%) with Lance (0/25), gains 25 XP (Lvl 5 - 25/100)
