I read a strategy guide, it said "get a trade post, go lean on resources and use wonder gold to buy what you need, then do whatever." Seems to have been solid advise.

The fact that you got the caravansery didn't hurt either...

Not really, it cost me 3 coins to build and it has saved me 4 coins so far for a net of 1, I'll probably get another 1-2 gold out of it on the last hand, still worse than the straight up coin paying age 2 cards, which would have netted me 6 coins at that point. Probably still the best play in that hand though.

That trade post though, that one has been doing work, netting 8 coins so far on an age 1 card.
