Formula De league

This is the general thread for the Formula De league.

Individual races will consist of up to 5 teams with two players each, players score points both individually and for their teams and we'll be trying to keep players within the same team as much as possible between races, with preference being given to people who scored more points for the team. Tracks will be whatever we find good maps for as long as interest lasts. The next race begins when the first person enters lap 2 of the previous race, people can enter as many races as they want.

We'll be using this ruleset, with a few changes for forum play.

Qualifying:
Every player gets their own thread in Frogstar for qualifying and they do their qualifying at the same time, scores are number of rolls+amount of tyre damage, there is no score for time taken and the tiebreaker is who finishes qualifying first. Instead of a straight 10 point penalty for mistakes there is a 1 point penalty for a mistake plus one more for every point the mod estimates you would gain through the mistake.

Try to describe the moves you make clear enough that someone can follow along with what you're doing and post a map at the end of the route you took, for tiebreaker purposes the moment you post the map counts as the end of your qualifying run. A base image of the map will be provided, you can download it and use a program like paint to mark every position you stopped.

People can /in for a race until every player has rolled for their start of the race itself, but if you /in after the start of qualifying you do not qualify and start the race at the back of the grid.

The dice used in the game are as follows:
Gear 1: 1d2
Gear 2: 1d3+1
Gear 3: 1d5+3
Gear 4: 1d6+6
Gear 5: 1d10+10
Gear 6: 1d10+20

Players score points for the overall standings as follows:
1st: 15 points
2nd: 12 points
3rd: 10 points
4th: 8 points
5th: 6 points
6th: 5 points
7th: 4 points
8th: 3 points
9th: 2 points
10th: 1 point

Teams score points equal to the combined points of the players for that team, any car not in the race scores the same number of points as the middle ranked player in that race (rounded up) for the team.

Every other rule should be as described in the given ruleset, though changes may be made if problems come up.


Given that there is no hidden information in this game mods will be playing in the games they run, the current mods are TwoInAMillion and inspiratieloos, if you have any questions send one of them a PM or post in the thread, use of this account will be sporadic. This thread is mostly for keeping score and expressing interest or /pre-inning for future races.
