(based on a game from another forum)
I'm going to write the beginning of a story with multiple choices for the character at the end. The next poster will pick one (specifying which), write the next part, and give their own set of options. The cycle repeats itself for as long as people keep posting. You can have as many options as you want as long as it's 2 or higher.
Let's start.

Let's start.
The first thing you feel is the throbbing.
Groaning, you put your hands on your head and wait for the pain and the spinning to subside. You open your eyes, and the situation starts coming into focus; you appear to be in a cave dimly lit by torches, and a backpack- yours, you realize- is lying a couple of feet away from you. You slowly make your way to your feet and take in your surroundings.
You're standing in the intersection between two tunnels, the paths extending in four directions around you. There's a jagged opening in the ceiling that goes up into total darkness, making it impossible to tell how deep it is. You have a vague feeling that you fell through it when you were.... you try to rack your memory, which is currently sluggish and clouded from what seems to be a concussion. You know you came here for a reason...
You turn your attention back to the paths. To the left, there are faint clicking sounds and a vaguely unpleasant odor. To the right, there's a distant light and the sound of metal clanging. Behind you, there's something that sounds like chanting in another language. In front of you, there's dead silence.
You haven't been noticed so far. What do you do?
A: Go forward (silence)
B: Go left (clicking)
C: Go right (metal)
D: Go backward (chanting)
E: Check your pack
