Druid does sound fun for this adventure specifically. I haven’t explored all the classes yet so lemme get back to you :P

I also feel like with people having never played D&D 5e, we should do the mini adventure from level 1. I personally almost always start at 3, but level 1 is alot easier to get into because each character has more limited options. Level 3 is just where all the characters get more customized since they all choose their subclass by then.

I'd enjoy starting at 1, yeah

-Reads Monk's "Way of the Four elements"
-I can be AANG????

Might choose Monk, not sure yet though. Still love bard, still interested in rogue/cleric. I definitely like the idea of something natural/elements based because of the module. Also gnomes are so cute?? So, definitely possibly gonna be gnome.

Edit: druids and rangers are fascinating tooooo this is too much. My only other experience, we played with pre-made characters. I'm gonna have to like roll dice to pick a class just to make a decision

Way of the Four Elements is not well considered, and is one of those subclasses you would have to kind of min/max to make it on par with most of the other classes. It is your call, of course, but if you want a monk, the general consensus is that Open Hand is a little boring but good and Way of the Drunken Fist and Way of the Long Death are generally considered decent options.

In some circles, monks are less than well received.

I've run games with monks in the past, though, and, in fact, in my rotating DM group one of our DMs plays a monk. My Rogue steps in for him pretty well.

Meh I don’t want to make things less fun or unbalanced

Leaning now towards ranger & bard. I’ll probably do ranger to try something new. I’d also consider being cleric if no one else wants to be a healer, and I would try Druid to have a pair of druids which sounds fascinating and unique.

For ranger, by the way here is the ranger revised, which is far superior to the one in the PHB

Monk is fine(only worry I'd have as a monk player is stat buy cause they are MAD). Four Elements will
probably
impact the amount of fun you have. Any other monk will be fine as long as we aren't like..a party full of min/max hexblade dips and moon druids.

I am of the thought that Moon druids are also vastly overrated.

i'd like to start at level 1 too, if that's cool with everyone else

if you want to double up on a class, bard seems pretty cool too

after skimming through a bunch of classes i think i'm tending towards druid the most

does race matter that much?

also don't want to make things unbalanced but i don't really know enough to know if that's what i would be doing

For druid, you would probably prefer a race that gives you wisdom, but, realistically, any race can excel at any class in the game.

My group has had a half-orc warlock, a elf barbarian, and I believe one of my friends is now playing a dwarf wizard. So, you can do whatever.

Since we have a bunch of new players, may I suggest we use the Adventurer's League rule of allowing people to respec any time before fourth level?

Hi this is a real /in now because why not. I'm thinking something punchy (fighter/barbarian) cause I don't do that much.
