This is a game idea based on a Japanese tabletop game called "QUIZ! Iisen Ikima SHOW!" (Which was not an actual game show, or was it?). It's a simple game where you answer numerical questions in variety of topics, often about some satistics or a poll. For example: "How many people have traveled more than three countries in one month?"

The fact is, there is

no correct answer

. We don't have enough time to poll everyone in the world or gather a lot of secured data from FBI.

The goal of this game is to be the MEDIAN of everyone's answer, and probably match someone else's answer.

You get points according to how close to the median your answer is, and lose points if you are on the extremes.
You also get points for matching EXACTLY ONE of the other players' answer, but lose points if you match more than that.

At the end of the game, who has the most points wins. Easy, right?

GAMEPLAY

Up to 10 people can play each episode (While I would like it to be a full community game, I think having preset episodes look better).

I ask a question, then players PM a numerical answer in a 48-hour time limit. After everyone answered, the answers will be revealed and ordered from lowest to highest

Duplicates are treated as one answer in the order.

and then points are awarded/deducted by the positions of the answers; THE CLOSER YOU ARE TO THE MEDIAN (very middle position compared to other answers), THE MORE POINTS YOU GET. More points awarded/deducted for duplicate answers.

There are 3 rounds.

ROUND 1

- 5 Questions with point payouts:

ONLY MEDIAN: 1,500 (if there are odd number of non-duplicate answers)
TWO MEDIANS: 1,000 (if there are even number of non-duplicate answers)
EXTREMES (Highest/Lowest): -500
OTHER ANSWERS: 500 - {number of positions away from the median(s)}x100 (So if you're one away from the median, you get 500-(1x100) = 400 points)

Spoiler: MATCH PAYS (Paid in addition to MEdian PAYS)

If your answer matches EXACTLY ONE other player's: +250
If your answer matches MULTIPLE players': -100x(number of players who share this answer)

ROUND 2

- 4 Questions. Point values are DOUBLED

ROUND 3 - Super MEdian

- 1 Final Question with TRIPLE values.

NOTE: I will play along in this round to give more chances of matching answers. Point payout for matching my answer is as the same as normal rules.

After all 3 rounds, whoever has the most points wins.

EXTRA RULES

1. All answers in this game must be an integral number, meaning that

no decimal values/fractions allowed

(Unless explicitly stated by the question).
2. Try to answer from your thought according to the question.

3. Some questions have a set range, follow it or you will be treated as a "no answer".
4. Discussions are allowed in-thread only. DO NOT WHISPER. Also, you can say anything, maybe even bluff about your answer. (Be sure to follow the Site Rules, though.)
5. You may change your answer by re-PMing it within the time range.
6. No answer in time suffers a -1000 and one strike in all rounds (not multiplied). 3 strikes and you're removed from the game.
7. Players who played an episode must wait until there are at least 5 non-previous-episode players in the queue to join the queue.

I'd say winning this game despite the game being balanced against us. That was easy, but the mere fact that I worked out how to pull off a win...

My favorite Mafiascum memory is that time I left for a while.
