2018 NFL 3 Strikes Challenge

(Format and rules and everything taken from Pablito's hostings of this game the last three years)
Pretty much the standard Eliminator challenge, but you get additional lives.

RULES

The objective of the challenge is to correctly select a "Winning Pick" for one NFL game each week.

Each week, you must select one team which you believe will be the winner of that game. Please post in thread and bold your pick for that week. If you are correct, you stay alive. However, if your pick for that week loses its game, or you fail to make a pick for a given week, you earn a Strike. If you earn three Strikes, you are eliminated.
Once you pick a team, you can't use that team the rest of the season.

The last remaining person wins. If more than one person is left standing after Week 17, the following tiebreaker is used:

1. The person who has the least amount of Strikes
2. The person who has the longest streak of correct picks
3. I don't want to deal with more tiebreakers than this, so we'll just call it a tie between any players tied after the first two tiebreaker rules.

Lock-time
All selections will lock at the scheduled kick-off of each game (as found on the NFL website). Players must make sure their picks are submitted by the scheduled locktime each week. You will not be able to make selections for games that have already locked. Selections submitted after the deadline are considered invalid, and will not be counted as Winning Picks. Entrants who submit selections after the lock time and do not submit another entry for the week will earn a Strike. Feel free to change your pick as long as both the game you are changing from and the game you are changing to have not reached their respective lock-times.

Tie Games
In the event a game should end in a tie after overtime, players that had selected teams in the game as their picks for that week will neither be recorded with a Winning Pick or a Strike.

Joining in Late:
Players have until Week 3 to join.
If you join in Week 2, you start the game with one Strike. If you join in Week 3, you start the game with two Strikes.

I think I won 2013 and 2015 thou I did not completely finish any season, I just lasted the longest those 2 years

D3f3nd3r's winning of back to back years with 1 strike each year has him as best player in this game by far

I doubt this scenario will come up but let's say someone currently has the longest streak of correct picks at let's say 5. Then they make a pick on a game that ends in a tie. Then they make another correct pick. The player currently has no strikes. Is their longest streak now at 6 or is it locked in at 5 and they are now on a new streak of 1?

A strike clearly ends a streak but does a tie end a streak?

It says correct picks. If a tie isn't a strike, it's a correct pick, right?

Fairly certain a tie does not contribute to a streak because:
Tie Games
In the event a game should end in a tie after overtime, players that had selected teams in the game as their picks for that week will neither be recorded with a Winning Pick or a Strike.
However that does not clarify on whether a tie ends a streak or not.

I’m interpreting it as if a tie would break a streak but not count as a strike.

hahaha I was born into a Browns-loving family
It's a mandatory phrase at any family event

I only know enough about football to know the team is terrible which makes my family's love for the team hilarious so I take every opportunity to spread the fun

The latter, I think. It’s a streak of correct picks, not a streak of games without a strike.

I've always interpreted that rule the same way. Last tied game was in 2016 and it did not have an impact on a tiebreak for the season because there was a definitive winner.
