The perfectly-logical strategy when you only wish to maximize your own gold involves alternating between 0s and 1s down the line. But it seems like we are, interestingly enough, following the 0s strategy but changing the 9X's and 1's into other values.

We can’t be perfectly logical though because of how money stays between each playthrough. It might be optimal in some circumstances to vote no on a vote that otherwise you would say yes to because the benefit of cutting someone’s gold outweighs any offer they can give

I want 40, because that puts me up high enough to be “in the game,” so to speak.
E, I’ll give you 30, putting you in second.
Charles, you get 25, keeping you in the runnings and tying you for second with E. This way, both of you are in a good spot to catch James.
Katy will get only 5, because a) That’s all I have left and b) You’re trying really hard to play the rest of us against each other, which I don’t like.
