Things that are noisy:

RACKET: pretty much a synonym for a lot of noise.
PIANO: loud music.
HELICOPTER: hard to miss when one of those is flying nearby.
DUCK: quack.
BELL: depends on the size of the bell, really.

If the clue had been NOISE, I'd probably start with RACKET, but it wasn't. It probably isn't PIANO / BELL; too many other ways of getting to that.

TOWER - airports have a control tower.
TIME - airports run on schedules; time is a very important concept at an airport.
STICK - planes use a stick?
OIL - something else planes use.
AUSTRALIA - a continent with multiple airports.
RACKET - airports are noisy.
STRIKE - there was a big ATC strike once upon a time ...
DATE - same reason as time, although weaker.
