Preface: This game is (by site standards) bastard. Your role (and by extension win-con) may change without your knowledge. You have been warned. Additionally, I know I have not been the greatest moderator in my last few games I have run. I am working on changing that. If you do not wish to participate with that in mind, feel free to not join.




Generalized Rules
Stolen and adapted from my normal mafia rule-set, which was stolen from my old rules, which I forgot if I stole borrowed without permission from anyone...

General Rules/Game Etiquette
  1. Obey all site-wide rules.
  2. Don't get site-banned.
  3. Do not talk with any players involved in the game outside of this thread under any circumstances/
  4. Flavor is flavor. Don't make arguments from it.
  5. We're all humans. Treat others like them, ok?
  6. Play towards your current win-condition. Yes. Your current win-con. Due to how this game works, your role (and by extension win-con) may shift around. Play towards it, unless you don't know what it is, in which case, try to play towards your old one.

Activity/Prods
  1. Every 36 hours (at the very minimum), you must post relevant, game-advancing content, otherwise the prod-timer will not reset.
  2. I will replace you after 18 hours of continued inactivity from your prod.
  3. 3 Prods = Forced Replacement.

Deadlines/Player Actions
  1. There is exactly a single Day and Night phase for the entire game, as well as a voting phase.
  2. Day = 168 hours; Night = 48 hours; Voting = 24 hours.
  3. If 3/5 players agree, the day may be skipped and instead go straight to the voting phase.
  4. If an extension is required for any phase, you will be informed of that.
  5. All actions are mandatory, and will be resolved in the following order, with Action 0 being the first:

    6. Insomniac/Doppel-Insomniac

Voting
  1. All votes must be submitted in PMs with the title of "ONUWW: Vote" or something similar.. Do not submit any votes in the thread at all, otherwise, they will be disregarded. The only exception is if you are voting to skip the day. Please post that in thread.
  2. The lynch is determined by whoever has the most votes at the end of the voting phase. If two or more players are tied, they will pick a number between one (1) and one-hundred (100). The player the furthest away from my chosen number will die.

Special Mechanics / Game Rules
  1. If a Doppelgänger may exist, they will have a 24 hour pre-game phase to select a player to Copy. No role-cards will be sent out until this phase is over, and the thread will remain locked.
  2. Game begins on Night 0.
  3. Because roles (and win-cons) may shift during the night, if you know you are no longer werewolf-aligned, but were originally, it is perfectly OK to sell out your former teammates.
  4. Players are not told anything about their previous roles if they may see their new role. (Eg, if a Robber robs a Werewolf, they are not told who the other werewolves are. An Insomniac that sees they are now Seer may not investigate players, etc etc).
  5. If the Minion is by themselves, they will effectively become a Werewolf, sans the ability to view the middle cards.
  6. Doppelgänger, Single Minion/Werewolf/Minion's role will always appear to be Doppelgänger, Partnered Mason/Werewolf/Minion respectively.
  7. If the Tanner has met their win-con, they trump all other met win-cons.

Miscellaneous Rules
  1. Do not use this color (#006769) ever.
  2. If you require some external help to read your text, don't post it. (This includes text below size-69.)
  3. Still accepting the double spaced, MLA format, Times New Roman, 12-point font, convincing two page essay on why I'm the best FM player ever. No one has actually accepted that yet, (that I know of). (Citations are still required as well).
  4. Follow the spirit of the rules. If you think I would find the loophole you found funny enough to justify you going against the spirit of the rules, feel free to go against this rule at your own peril.

Not sure how much the ruling has changed, but One Night Ultimate Werewolf is considered to be Mafia by sitemods
While I don't agree with the ruling, previous attempts to run ONUW here have been shut down and asked to run in the queue instead.

I mean, my thing is that Secret Hitler was successfully ran before.
ONUW is in the same vein as SH. It's technically mafia, but there's a major twist to it.
SH is the mechanics of the game, ONUW is also mechanics of the game.

Secret Hitler and Resistance are not Mafia/Werewolf games. There are mechanics that actually make them become more like a cooperative-betrayal game.
ONUW is a Werewolf with a bastard mechanic, but still resembles a Werewolf/Mafia game.

But then Mish Mash forums calls for "Mafia variants" so... (Yeah, we should allow ONUV/Va/A to be on Mish Mash)

Also, rule-correction: If there is a tie for most votes, all tied players die, unless everyone gets one vote each then no one dies. Village wins if at least ONE werewolf dies, or if there are no werewolves and no one dies. Werewolves win if no werewolves die. However, if Tanner dies, he wins and everyone else loses.

Only Drunk's night action is mandatory (also Hunter's passive ability), other roles may choose not to use their night action (but what's the reason for it LOL)

I thought I replied to this earlier, but:
- For ties, me and my friends thought it was a bit unfair in both really small and really large setups (with/without daybreak) to have ties be solved by that, especially when Daybreak can have like 6/7 people be werewolves, while 3 are uninformed/added later on. To kinda balance out that, we came up with it being solved by other methods. If it genuinely bothers people that I'm taking that creative liberty, I'll change it.
- For win-cons, I know what the actual ones are, however, for simplicity's sake (and making it easier to read), I went with what I put. Additionally, all setups are guaranteed to have two werewolves as two possible roles. It's possible, but unlikely that both werewolves would be in the middle, so I went with what I said.
- I did adjust the wincons around. It's really just so nobody can be like "Oh we should win because win-con said so".
- For abilities, me and my friends play with mandatory abilities regardless of your role. Once again, if people are pissed I'm taking that creative liberty, I'll change it.
- Hunter's ability reads as a passive. The bolded part is saying that something else needs to be met before their ability activates.
