I know these things are true:

1) 12 US States lie entirely north of Canada's southernmost point.
2) Norway contains Svalbard, which has the world's least south inhabited place.
3) Russia has Sochi, which is too far south to host a decent Winter Olympics.

None of those fun facts really answer the question, though.
