Nexus spends 2o and 3c to upgrade to a trading post. He gets 4 points from the round scoring tile. Tatsuya is offered 1 free power rotation, which I assume he takes.

Nexus:
8o->6o
15c->12c
10vp->14vp

Pants is up.

Initiating Gaia Project on the valid planet in Sector 09, placing my Gaiaformer there, moving 5 power chips from Zone I and one from Zone II to Gaia Zone.

It is now chamber's turn.

Going to do the Image updates for these all at once.

Tatsuya initiates a Gaia Project.

I upgrade to a trading post in sector 2.
7o->5o
22c->19c
10vp->14vp

Pants gets offered a power charge of 1 which I assume he takes.

Back on Nexus.

Can I terraform the brown planet in sector 01?

I went back and forth on whether I should say this or not because I don't want to come off like I'm playing the game for anyone. Here are some things you want to avoid doing if you can avoid it:
Terraforming for 3 ore.
Upgrading to trading posts when you don't have a neighbour.
Spending substantial amounts of power on the free-action conversations instead of the board power actions.

All of these things are right sometimes (and if you need a spare dollar or ore to make a play, doing a free-action conversion is normally fine in moderation), but especially with the first 2, there are more games where they don't come up than where they do.

You can avoid terraforming for 3 ore in the early game in a variety of ways.
One way is to wait until you have 3 or 5 power in the 3rd bowl and using the matching terraforming power action. (remember that these can only be used once per round between all players)
One way is to get up to 2 range on the navigation track so that you can reach planets you don't have to terraform.
One way is to use QIC's for temporary range or to settle Gaia planets.
One way is to go up on the terraforming track and terraform with a reduced ore cost.
One way is to avoid early terraforming and go up the orange income track as a means of getting income instead of expanding.

These options aren't mutually exclusive, though some pairs would be impossible to pull off round 1.

Most of these options require building a round 1 Research Lab, taking a tech tile associate with the track you want to go up, and then using the 4 knowledge you have to also go up the same track in a future action.

Some races that get a lot of flexibility out of their PI will build that round 1 instead. This usually includes the Terraners.

I hope none of this has come across as being too prescriptive, I just don't want you to ruin your experience with an early bad play.

In post 37, Nexus wrote:Can I terraform the brown planet in sector 01?
Yes, that would cost 3 ore for the Terraforming, plus two credits and an ore for the mine.

Okay, can I spend knowledge to upgrade the navigation research?

Sorry I am bad

Yes, as an action, pay 4 knowledge to advance any one research level.

I'm taking that as an action from Nexus. I'm a bit brain fried right now, didn't get enough sleep last night so I'll update the game later. Whether pants wants to go now or wait until I've updated things is up to him.

Upgrade Mine in Sector 6

Pants upgrades his mine to a trading station.

6o->4o
13c->10c
10vp->14vp

Nexus is offered one power which I assume he takes.

Upgrading my mine on Sector 03 to a Trading Post.

Ore 8 > 6
Credits 15 > 12 (cost equals 3 when there is an opponent building in Range 2 from the trading post, otherwise it would have been 6.)
VP 10 > 14 (Round Scoring: 4 VPs every time I build a Trading Post)

Nexus may charge 2 power at the cost of 1 VP (this will move his one power chip from Zone I to Zone III, ready to spend). Please declare if you would like to.

It is now chamber's turn.

Upgrade sector 2's trading station to a research station. Take the 1 worker/1power tech tile, advancing once on the orange track.

o5->o2
c19->c14

Pants is offered a free power which I assume he takes.

Nexus is up.
