If Rhinox has not joined the league by whatever time I log in Sunday morning, I will send an L1 invite to Nero Cain (who will be given Rhinox's draft slot) and finalize the team list once Nero has joined.

part of me feels like Rhinox should retain his slot even if he doesn't join L1 by Sunday. He did express interest in playing and it would be a bummer if he came back at some point to find that he lost his chance and automatically goes back to L2 next year. He could just be busy or have spotty internet and he shouldn't be "punished" for that. We could simply have a "Ramblin Rhinos" team that could be transferred to him if/when he gets back.

Now the downside of this would be there's an inactive manager slot and unless auto draft gifts him a Mith tier team it could be not very competitive which is kinda both unfun and unfair.

If Rhinox doesn't play it does help solve L2 a little....I don't think there's a wrong or right answer b/c I could see it from both perspectives so hopefully, Rhinox just signs up by Sunday and the point is moot but dems my feelings.

That is functionally possible, but a dummy slot would require someone to be in charge of it - we can't functionally have a team with no manager. If everyone is okay with a dummy slot (specifically, if everyone trusts that the person in charge of the dummy slot won't fudge the draft or the regular season to gain some sort of advantage), then I'd be okay setting such a thing up.

I will say that, if that ends up being the route we go and Rhinox doesn't show up until after the season starts, I would personally prefer the dummy team be permitted to rearrange their roster in accordance with Yahoo's weekly projections and to avoid starting players on bye weeks, but not be permitted to add/drop players. This can be discussed if it ends up being the route we go.

I'd like to be with Rhinox as he is an og from ohio like myself, but if that not happen, its cool.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, I'll be setting up the L1 divisions and schedule after the 12th team matter is resolved but before the draft begins. Since we have 12 teams and 14 weeks, my thinking was to have three divisions of four teams each (since that's what was done last year), and designing the schedule so that Weeks 1 through 3 are all divisional games, Weeks 4 through 11 are against the eight non-divisional teams, and Weeks 12 through 14 are all divisional games again. I want to have this done

before

the draft so that weekly matchups cannot reasonably be accused of taking the NFL schedule into account so as to give anyone an unfair advantage (e.g. matching myself up in Week 7 against a team that has drafted five players with Week 7 byes).

I will set a deadline of Sunday at Whenever I First Log In O'Clock for (a) schedule system objections and (b) divisional setup requests. So far my only plan for (b) is putting PokerFace and Rhinox in the same division. Anyone not involved in any divisional requests by the deadline will have their division randomized. (Division names

can be decided after divisions are constructed; I'll probably use silly placeholders in the meantime

will be the same as whatever they were last year, I forgot there was tradition there.)

Just b/c someone has to manually join doesn't mean they have to do anything and they shouldn't. A dummy rhino account is essentially the same as Rhinox joining and then flaking. You are right that it comes down to trust. Its a question of whats fair but IMO a dummy account would need to be auto-drafted and no moves taken on his behalf (this includes starting players on bye)

EDIT: In case anyone is curious, "Individual draft picks customized" is probably because setting a custom draft order also automatically comes with assigning keepers. I obviously didn't assign anyone any keepers, but I guess the notification popped up anyway.

Division distribution time! I'll be using the division names from last year (Division of Death, Voodoo, mith's Envy) and assigning folks at random, filling up each division in the order they were listed in the previous parenthetical. Note that PokerFace and Rhinox will be in the same division as was requested, which means that:

* If one of them is picked for a division, the other will be immediately added to that same division without a roll
* If we reach the fourth roll for a division and neither of them are in it, they will both be removed from the fourth roll pool (this is why they've been moved to the bottom of the list, which has otherwise been wholesale copied from the ordered list in 115)

Once divisions are created, I'll make the schedule based on mith's schedule-maker spreadsheet from 2016.
