Uh oh, I've never had to explain how to play before.

First thing I must say though. No lynches are never good, ESPECIALLY D1. You should never have a no lynch D1 (which, coincidentially, happened in my newbie game). Having a no lynch D1 often leads to a wasteful D2 due to the fact that no lynch is equivalent to town having made no progress on removing scum/suspects. Elimination of suspects is always important to town. Luckily in my last game, no kill occured (doc save), but giving mafia free NKs is never good.

I disagree in the fact that I think that RVS still has its uses. The point of RVS is not to lynch scum right off the bat with your RV, but to expose scummy behavior and generate discussion.

To finish off my thought, if a cop comes up with a guilty result, they should claim, unless they can push for lynch without claiming. Trading a cop for scum is worth it imo. Doc should claim only later in game, though if a saved target survived a NK, and protected target is still alive, doc should reveal depending on circumstances.

Votes are powerful things though, and lead to discussion. This is a general point to the beginners. Never be afraid to vote for those you find suspicious early on in the game. Putting pressure on those you find suspicious help you learn about your suspect.

Second of all how the hell are only scum afraid of being lynched? you have a 2/9 chance of being lynched as a scum but you have 7/9 chance of being lynched as a townie? Ive been the most scummy because im defending my self?

Simple, scum win condition differs from that of town. While scum requires survival to win, being townie does not require survival, but removal of scum. As such, being lynched as town, where there are 7, is not like scum, where there are only 2. Since you like looking at probability, ending up in a 1 scum out of 7 scenario (given NK) for scum is far more less desirable than a 5 townie out of 7 for town.

Not sure if I explained my thought properly, but essentially, townie are not afraid of dying if it helps town. Even if they are suspected, they will try and help, instead of "flailing" and trying to attack those who voted for them. You have reacted negatively to not only my vote, but to CML's as well, which suggests to me that you may be scum.

McGriddle, I'm surprised that your vote on Salazel was a "joke," seeing as you cited defensiveness as the main reason and that is rather valid. What was the purpose of your joke vote? Do you find his defensiveness not actually suspicious, then?

It was still semi rv. Nah, not really, he's a newb, I remember my first game I was soo scared of being lynched that I had to tread on ice the whole time and when anyone called me on anything I flipped (I was townie)

I really do not like using "semi-RV" as an explaination of a vote. Seems like you are just trying to avoid liability for your vote.

I would like the replacement to post ASAP. I am against lynching replacements right off the bat before they have a chance of defending themselves, but salezal replacing out just screams of scum unable to defend one self... especially given the attitude he played with.

@ Everyone! - Let's get some input as to what you think about the Liam and Salezal interaction. If Liam get lynched today we will still not have very much information. The only thing beneficial to a mislynch is the information gained from it, and if nobody else is posting we have no information. Plus if we're all just townies bickering then that means scum is flying under the radar hard. So let's go people, let's get some input.

This post reeks of scumslip, and still bugs me. At the time, it seemed McGriddle was trying hard to alleviate the pressure off of salezal, and redirect it to CML. Also, the statement

seems as if McGriddle already knows that CML is town. I wonder how he would know... oops /scumslip


That said, muthaa is still squirming in salezal's slot. He seems to be trying to tunnel Zed pretty hard and paint Zed as scum. After catching up and re-reading, muthaa has done nothing to change my impression of scum. I am ready for a muthaa lynch.

If muthaa is scum, then McGriddle is most likely his scumbuddy.


@Nina: There was a post where you stated that you saw salezal as being "more townie" for replacing out. Why was this? (I am essentially curious as to why you thought replacing out in Salezal's situation was more of a town move)

Oy. I made a mistake by not putting Sals name in there with Liams but this is what I wrote "If Liam get lynched today we will still not have very much information." So if we're going to point out typing flaws look at the 3rd word. It's in plural tense, I was speaking about both of them. Now if I said "get's" then you have something, but that is a simple mistake. Let me fix it. "If Liam or Sal get lynched today we will still not have very much information." And that is a very true statement. I am leaning more towards Liam being scum, but why do you think I am brushing Sal off? I initially put a little pressure on him, I was the first person to call him out. Now, my critique of his "conforming" was a joke/protip. I never said conforming is a joke/protip, don't take that out of context. And that last part.... really? I am scummy because of my paranthetical phrasing? Also, I am a bad SE, I rarely help anyone, I am more interested in winning. I didn't remove my vote from Liam because although I fear a mislynch, I still think he is scummy.

Let me clarify that a little bit. If katsuki would have said "I think he knows they will be a mislynch" that would have been okay, but she said "knew". Neither Muthaa or Liam are confirmed town (besides Muthaas cop claim that's 50/50), and neither of them are dead so we don't know that either of them are town. Yet she used the past tense of "knew" and slipped out that she already knows that they are town.

Also, gameplay wise, what McGriddle did was a gambit. In this case, the gambit either would've led to CML claiming doc and calling BS on McGriddle's claim, or McGriddle not being lynched.

Also I thought it was over for me when I forgot to unvote D2. I didn't realize McG was at L1.

Making that mistake once, I didnt wanna make it again D3. Plus, I recently lost a game due to zwet lying about investigation (he was half cop, I was other half), and hence not being able to put my suspicion down for the last scum player, who somehow caused 3 mislynches.

Plus, you were the highest suspect on my scum list by far after N1. Though the below is what I'd like to know:

That, or make no mention of sal at all and attack someone instead. IMO, when someone makes a slip like that, it is far better to divert attention onto someone else rather than to associate yourself defending. (I would advise you guys keep this in mind in any future games you play).
