Da Rules (Stolen from Haylen, since I like hers the most)
During the Day...
1.
The game is a Day Start.
2.
You must bold your votes as such
Vote: Battle Mage
, please put the unvote where I can see it though, at the bottom of the post preferably. Unvoting makes me happy, but isn't completely necessary.
3.
Each Day will have a deadline of 3 weeks, not reaching a majority of votes during that time will result in a no lynch. I may extend the deadline in special circumstances. I may also reduce the deadline by one day each time if activity does not pick up. Don't lurk. Lurking makes me sad
4.
Mafia may not speak to each other during the day, lest you be smited.
5.
You may not quote your role PM's or any other communication outside thread, with the mod. Lest you be smited.
6.
I don't like cheaters.
(a)
Anybody who is found to be using invisible text, spoiler tags, encryption or anything as such will be smited unless they have an extremely good reason. Not knowing is not a good reason.
(b)
If you have the power to edit yours or anyone elses posts. Dont. Lest you be smited.
7a.
If you do not post within 72 hrs, you will receive a prod. Failure to response to the prod within 72 hrs will result in an automatic replacement. Three prods with result in an automatic replacement aswell.
b.
All mod communication should be opened as they are likely to contain important information about the game. This is to prevent mistakes with prods ect.
c.
If the third real life day after a prod is sent occurs during the night, then players are required to reply to their prod via PM. This is so that if a replacement is needed one can be found ASAP.
8.
If you don't post for a whole game day, you'll be forcibly replaced.
During Twilight
1.
Votes and unvotes will not be counted after a lynch.
2.
The person lynched may still talk during Twilight.
3.
Mafia still can't talk during this time.
During the Night Phase
1.
The Night Phase will last 72 hrs. I like this number. Any actions that have not been received by then will be forgone. (Night may end early if all actions are received)
2.
If your role permits it, you may talk to the players I have given you permission to talk to during the night.
3.
Mafia, whoever sends in the kill, don't try and kill your partners, I will not be messed with.
4.
Don't try and impersonate the mafia by sending me fake action PM's, I will not appreciate it, and you will be smited.
General Rules
1.
I will not accept insulting behaviour in my games, anybody doing so will receive a nice, well worded warning from me in thread. Further breaking of the rule will receive a harsher punishment.
2.
Various shades of lightish blue
are my colour. Sometimes I like to edit your posts, if I do I'll use my colour.
3.
Never talk to anybody outside the game except if your role permits it, and I have told you you can talk now.
4.
Don't piss off the mod. You will be smited.
5.
If you think you have found a loophole with my rules, you haven't. I will recognise a loophole breakage and punish you accordingly.
6.
Smitings (AKA) 'Modkills', means I kill you immediately (for breaking the rules) and change your role to Neutral Survivor, meaning you auto-lose. Smitings (AKA) 'Modkills' automatically end the day. Period.
7.
Play to win, just like everyone else. Don't get disheartened if you're lynched or attacked, basically don't take anything personally. If you feel somebodies behaviour has been inappropriate PM me about it and I will deal with it in some form or another.
8.
Thy mod is thy god...however, I may make a mistake, if I do; PM me about it and I'll deal with it in some form or another.
9.
If you need help PM me
10.
Treat this game as a commitment, and be courteous to your fellow players. It will make everybody, including your mod happy. Smile
11.
It is my prerogative to change the rules if I deem it necessary, you shall receive a notification in thread and a PM aswell to notify you of these changes.
12.
I like receiving PM's, if anybody fancies PMing me for a chat or rant go for it. I can't talk about game specifics though, obv obv.

Mafia is a game of honor. Cheating is breaking the honor code you committed to when you joined this site.

The game will follow one of the following rolesets:
A) 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 1 Town Cop, 1 Town Doc, 5 Vanilla Townies
B) 1 Mafia Goon, 1 Mafia Roleblocker, 7 Townies
C) 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Sane Cop, 6 Townies
D) 2 Mafia Goons, 1 Doctor, 6 Townies

Well, with VOT's confirm, we have 7/9. I'll give the other two 24 hours to post in here, otherwise I'll go snag two out of the queue.
In the vein of what the other three just said, I'm your mod for this game. My job is keeping track of vote counts and lynches/night actions when applicable, making sure that the rules are followed, writing flavour when I can, and answering any questions you may have. If you feel the need to, I highly encourage you to contact me via PM. I'll answer any questions you may have to the best of my abilities.
That being said, I have a bad habit of getting votes wrong or missing them when I go through. In the event that this occurs, please either PM me or post it in thread in the format

At deadline, if there is no one with a full majority, the day will end with a no lynch. Also, all Newbie setups that contain either a Doc or a Cop are guaranteed to use only sane variants. In fact, most setups will only use sane variants, save for the occasional bastard mod game. Just goes to show that I'm extremely lazy and copied the ruleset off someone else

VOT hasn't responded to his prod, and thus will be replaced. I'm sorry I can't do much more for you guys atm, but I have a 12-page research paper due in three days, and a virus just annihilated my first draft, so I'm not going to be around all that much for the next couple of days.

I'm open to the idea of extending deadline if you all want it, but I'm going to wait and see if it's necessary first. If I do extend it, it's going to be until the 28th, and I'll have the thread open by New Years Day

So today I learned exactly how quickly I can go from happy shopper to homicidal maniac. Took me three minutes to go from entering the mall to visualizing myself stabbing the guy behind me who felt it necessary to yell into his cell phone while he was three feet away from my head.

Deadline is still set for Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 11:59pm. If deadline is reached without a lynch, we will proceed into Night Phase with no lynch.
Also, I'm not that far between my VCs, you guys are just way too active for me to keep up with.

And so you decide that David Parker must be one of the creepy tribesmen who are trying to ruin your trip. You decide that the only possible course of action is to kill him. You do so quite quickly, and begin searching through his pockets for proof of his identity. All that comes up are a wallet and a set of keys.

Not how I expected this to end, but okay.
So as your small group starts to try and move on, Concission decides that he's had enough and jumps into the river and drowns. There's nothing left now to stop Tanstalas and Singersigner from overpowering the remaining two.
So yeah, Singersigner and Tanstalas, the Scum, have won Newbie 1038.
So yeah, you guys are probably one of the best Newbie groups I've ever been involved with here on the site. You had good questions, good analysis, and the PR play was great. Tans, if Singer hadn't changed the N1 kill, there would have been both Mirror and KTS confirmed as Town. That's how close you guys came to being screwed.
I'd like to thank Llama and the replacements for giving these Newbies a great experience for one of their first games on-site. I wish it had ended in a more satisfying way, but people can't be helped.
Concission, just so you know, if this wasn't a Newbie game, self-hammering as Town in LyLo is one of the quickest ways to get yourself on a modding blacklist. It's honestly one of the worst things a player can do. I can understand being frustrated, but when that happens, just take a step back, sign off for the night, then come back a day later after you've calmed down and resume playing like normal.
Anyway, for those of you who want to continue with Mafia games, I'd like to suggest using the Open queue if you're still a bit uneasy, or jump straight in to a Mini queue. As a slight plug, I'm going to be having Sherlock Holmes Mafia coming up in the Mini Theme queue in the very near future.

I drunk post entirely too often. Weird part is, I don't post all tha tdifferent, except for occasional spelling mistakes that I wouldn't normally let get by me. Fun fact: I even did a drunk votecount in this game. Go ahead, try and guess which one.
