Hey guy! Welcome Mafiascum.

I am Ms. Marangal and I am the Inexperienced Challenged (IC) Player of this game. All this means is that I am here to help you all learn how to play, and get accoustomed to how things run on this site, and possibly even help you build and form your own play-style. I am also here as a player who's goal is to win and should be treated as such.

As an IC, I am also here to answer any questions that you may have about anything that you may need help with. When it comes to Theories, I will not lie but rather, answer the Theory question the best I can. My actions and motives in this game will be governed by the "Being a good IC" article.

While I will try to do my best to help you all, the best teacher is Experience itself, Along with seeing what works for other people. You can discuss Theories, ask questions, and all of that here in the Mafia Discussion Forum not to mention that it's an amazing place to learn more about the community and make a few friends.

A few tips from me:
1. Don't self vote. (there are really no points during a Newbie setup where this is a good idea, please avoid it however logical you may think it is)
2. This site frowns on lying if you are a vanilla town role. I strongly advise against lying if you have this role as usually it will only hurt town in the end.
3. A no lynch on D1 and any other day after helps no one. I strongly advise against a no lynch as it robs town of information that can be gained from a flip
4. It's a game - have fun.

We are now starting what is known as the RVS (random voting stage). We are in a low information period because scum already know who they are, and even have a rough idea of what power roles may or may not be in the game. It is now town's job to root them out. Because the start of the game leaves us with no information to start with generally the way to start is to begin voting and questioning other people to see if you can catch them doing something scummy (scummy actions being acts that a scum player is more likely to do then a town player).

I see alot of town players do that kind of thing and I know what you mean when you say it pings when people say that, but it's a logical fallacy that you shouldn't put much stock on (and I should know this ns, because it's one of my biggest paranoia things that I'm working on)

Him having the guts to attack the IC and questioning me just as he would everyone else is so incredibly town, though I'm preeeetttyyy Sure that he's wrong about Rach

To me, VT looks like he is trying to dumb down his play. It doesn't look very Genuine at all, much like how TIP played his first game (as mafia) on site where I tagged him for doing such.

ASP looks townish too though, and maybe a bit more experienced compared to the average newbie

Notsci is probably town, the fact that he's paranoid that I would do something similar to what I have done in a scum game, and thus, might actually be scum this game looks pretty genuine.

Smoker is taking center stage, not caring how anyone looks at him and usually, that's something most scum players avoid doing. much less, newbie players. He's owning up to his experience, and playing like he doesn't give a crap. He's pretty obviously scum-hunting and isn't scared to be antagonistic though, if he ever turns out to be experienced scum, I'll have to reconsider my read on him

You're looking a whole lot better, though the whole thing about how I'm reading people early on has to do with how they present themselves, and wot-not. First impressions, and the kind of vibes they give off from their first post. Every post has a mind-set behind it, more that what is being presented and it is up to town to try and figure out where the mind-set of the posts are coming from.

Which means, TNE and ASL are secondary suspicions for me that I don't have interest in. Though, I can see why people suspect him, ASL has been just as useful as my other scumspect, VT and I actually get the feel that ASL is, at the very least, trying to hunt for scum

I think AtE is a inherent town-tell. there are some people who are able to use it to their advantage as scum, however, how it is usually applied it's used for town

I was going to say that I don't use logic and frankly, I suck at it but, instead I use behaviors and attitudes to determine others alignments.

For example

You're town because of your indignant attitude. You expect people to think like you, to do things the way you do, and when people don't do things exactly the way you want them to, they are scum. You aren't afraid to voice your opinion, you don't like being called a newb, and you generally are just towntowntown and I just wish you would stop tunneling and realize that, you can't find my partner because I don't have one.

Rach is being aggressive for Rach, which is a really, really good sign and is the main reason why I'm town-reading her. She's pushing reads, and just being incredibly town

ns is town for his paranoia earlier, and his discussions, however there are a few cog-dis things that I'm somewhat worried about like him being paranoid of me, yet not doing anything to try and figure me out and asking TNE to contribute yet, saying lynching him would be a PL (even though he doesn't have a wagon on him and no one is thinking of lynching him in the first place) when Rach questions TNE's lack of content.

VT was scum for looking like he was contributing, yet not really contributing. I still feel like he's is dumbing down his play, and I'm not sure what to make of his call outs. Further more, I've seen new players use that newbie card before to get a scum victory and his lack of reads, interaction with others, combined with that is what makes him scum

CE/SSG is scum because his reaction to being suspected is how I think caught scum tend to react. He is a weak read however, and I'm willing to change my read on him

TNE is null-town, I like his last post and I can see his reasonings for it.

Prophy is null-scum for his weird vote and I need more from him. I also think he's scum for opening the game with "I'm town"

As for the game where you and Notty were scum and the one with TIPscum I believe I was in those games as well

But I also was not sure because I know it is a bit different when you are the IC and I certainly have been mislynched as the IC many times. So I was pushing Smoker to see how far the Wking would go.

Wrong. VT declared Smoker town in one of her first few posts, so it's natural that she would call Feel It town.

White-knighting isn't scummy, it's a play-style tell and it's bull shit because she knows that, when I get a good town-read, I defend it regardless of alignment no matter what everyone else thinks

When I ask her about her never seeing me do such, she avoids the question and, when I ask her again she said she would have to review games which is fine, but when the game of reference is one where she was scum and she saw me stick myself to her biggest attacker as well as it probably being a memorable game (for the wrong reasons albiet) because of what Grey decided to use to attack her with. It isn't something someone readily forgets

and then, when I bring up games where I have done the exact same thing, just as early she doesn't even comment on it. She is calling me scummy for something that has to do with my personality and my playstyle, especially as an IC

Especially the part where he said he was 110% sure I was scum and then made personal attacks against me and my fiance for no good reason? Umm I was kinda focused on him on that game Mara. It is still a scum tell even if YOU do it as town as well as scum. For example, in my first Newbie game a dude went way beyond WKing me, making me unlynchable. I chose wrongly in LYLO and scum won.

The only reason Wisdom went with Rach was because she was a deadline lynch, and there was no other viable counter-wagon at the time. Before then, he didn't want anything to do with Rach at all whatsoever but, he also knows that we can't no lynch

as for his attack on me, than his attack on ns, he wouldn't know either of our alignments so there is no way for him to know that he is actually killing town if he is town

as for the TNE kill, I think it points to someone who is at least somewhat skilled in mafia, and knows that killing someone with the least amount of information can be just as good as killing a huge threat. I immediately think one of my SE's, however that is just sci. Wisdom is skilled enough to do that kind of kill, though I wouldn't discount a newb doing it.

Banakai's reasons for TNE being killed is weird as it is exactly what mafia needs to think at this point as, killing off PR's early is the best thing they can do to win the game

1. They suspected he was a power role due to his lurking and not stepping on any toes.
