Rules

Voting, lynching, and deadline

To vote, bold the words “vote: playername” or use vote tags.
Though not strictly necessary, it is appreciated if you unvote before voting someone else.
It takes the votes of half of the living players, either plus 1 or rounded up, to lynch.
It takes half, rounded up, but not plus 1 to no-lynch.
Once the final vote has been cast, no further unvotes or votes will be counted.
If deadline hits with no majority, there will be no lynch that day.
If you have died, you may make one “bah” post the next day, as long as it does not say anything game related. In addition, if you've been lynched, you may continue to talk until I post the lynch scene.
Day deadline will be 3 weeks, with possible exceptions for replacements.
Night deadlines will be 72 hours, unless someone is replaced, in which case I will make a 2 day extension.
If you go without posting for 72 hours without providing advance notice of it(I don't check the V/LA thread), I will prod you. You then have 48 hours to respond. If you don't, I will replace you.

Etiquette

This is a game. Be respectful and have fun. Yes, you should play to win, but in my opinion, having fun is more important.
Do not post in small sizes, post in colors that blend in with the forum background, or in any way try to hinder the legibility of your posts.
Do not communicate about this game outside of this thread, unless otherwise stated in your role PM.
Quoting anything other than votecounts or rules from me is not allowed.

I will give you advice and answer your questions so everybody learns the early ropes (he! ropes->lynch!) and learns how we play the game here at mafiascum.

At first, let me ask you some questions:

My answers: My timezone is GMT+1, and I have played about 10 games on this site. I am playing this game on another site as well, but that site can't be compared with this one. I try to post at least once a day and I will do my best to be as active as possible.

These are some abbreviations that are frequently used, in case someone doesn't understand one:

RVS

- random voting system. Most games start with this to start conversations and to get first reads from every body.

RQS

- random question system. A few games use this instead of the RVS. One player asks some questions and every body can base their reads of others on the answers (and questions obviously).

LaL

- Either "Lynch all lurkers" or "Lynch all lyars". Meaning is obvious.

L-#

- Lynch minus #. How much votes have to be cast to reach a lynch.

Iso

- Isolation. It means reading just the posts of one player, instead of them all.

WIFOM

- wine in front of me. It is a way to describe bad arguments. Try to avoid using this as much as possible.

FoS

- finger of suspicion. This can be used as an unofficial vote.

EBWOP

- edit by way of posting. We can't edit our posts and sometimes we make mistakes in them. Usually people post another post saying EBWOP: ... showing their mistakes.
