Investigative checks are best used on the null reads.

You don't want to waste them on people town read by most of the game, and you don't want to use them on slots you're likely to flip early anyway because even if you town read them and prevent the lynch, there was probably a reason they were being scum read in the first place, and no one is really going to listen to their reads
But if you use them on those people in the middle, you can take a lot of uncertainty out of the game AND replace it with a confirmed town that can push their reads

so in this game, fmpov, that's people like MJL, BBmolla, and maybe
skitter
NMSA
bringing this up so people might find it

Also, JK and doctor should both be trying to save people they think might be NK'd. Don't try to use your JK ability for scum hunting this early on. Lock up a townie

I guess what i dont like here is that she wanted something to happen but didnt do it because of bad optics
(Doesnt help that she thinks he might flip green)

Like i guess its plausible that she really does value ending the day over prioritizing a scumflip and preventing lynching prs but like this mindset is very foreign to me and i dont like it

I am not implying that she was faking the reaction

I'm just saying that there is a chance that Person!MJ just doesn't keep up on vote counts that much since this is twice in the same game that she was unaware of where everyone was

Largely agree with urap's post above, his cop pool is good (good pool for neapolitans too), doc should try to save someone.

If a scum flips today imo its ok to use a jk ability to try to block scum, but if there's two scum a jk should be used like a doc imo

bbmolla feels about as passive around this wagon as he was around the two wagons he liked

which he shouldn't be if, as he says, he get's passive when he thinks things are moving in the right direction.

i mean i don't think i tricked you, i didn't say that salami was hammered. i did kinda let you believe it for about ten minutes or so

i strongly believe that we should get a claim before hammering and would much rather wait for a replacement before that happens; i think that's better play all around because for all i know salami is a pr that just got hammered because we didn't give the slot time to claim so

I don't see an actual rule on when it is permissible in the game to legally hammer a vote home. This is what i've found on the wiki. So other than courtesy, what is stopping me from hamming that vote home on Salami?

A player "at L-1", or "lynch minus 1" is one vote short of the majority votes needed to lynch and end the Day, and can be lynched with a single hammer vote.

"L-1"
is the most commonly used variation of the "L-#" notation, and is usually seen in votecounts to warn players of this status. The # may be replaced with any other number to signify that it will take that many more votes to lynch a player.

It is generally encouraged not to put a player at L-1 unless you are certain that they are scum, and that you have accomplished everything necessary for the Day. Doing so gives scum and impulsive town players a chance to quickhammer, resulting in no chance for a player to claim or not providing the chance to debate a claim, cutting off discussion for the Day, and so on.

Hammer:
A hammer is a vote on someone which results in the majority needed to lynch them. Once the hammer vote is placed, the game moves into Twilight until the mod posts the death scene. The player who has been hammered is considered beyond salvation as of the moment the hammering vote has been placed; barring the influence of a role like a Governor nothing will stop them from getting lynched. Many mods allow hammered players to post in Twilight but some do not.

Some players may use the threat of a hammer vote as a way to gambit in hopes of pulling votes off of them with a last second with "Oh well, go town." or "I wasn't lying, I really was the doctor."
In post 761, skitter30 wrote:the 'protocol' so to speak for a hammer is:

hammering without a claim is a big no-no

it happens sometimes anyways, especially if it's super close to deadline; there's more leeway for a quickhammer or a hammer without a claim if it's literally minutes before deadline

there's nothing mechanically stopping you from hammering rn
but i would strongly advise you not to do so before we get a claim

people who lolhammer can
expect to get *a lot* of flak the next day
; i personally consider it to be incredibly scummy (for a few players nai because they do it all the time, but i wish they wouldn't)

scumreading Salami bc of urap's analysis, like I said in my last post. I was voting you before because we needed a lynch fairly soon, as I also said in my last post.
skitter30 wrote:and why are you voting mjl now if you're fine hammering salami?
ended up not meaning anything after the hammer, but if other people wanted to lynch MJL, I was fine helping that along too cause she's probably scum imo. I could leave my vote there for others to wagon, while keeping the option to hammer Salami open. No point leaving my vote on a wagon that's gone (yours) when I can put it in a better place and still be able to hammer if necessary.

I'm confused. Are you trying to excuse your own hammer without this stuff? Or apologize? or something else? I can't tell what you're trying to say, since you ignored all of this advice.
