Nominate GreyICE for
I’m a Miller?
.

The story begins in Acomist’s Tiger eaten MST3K Mafia. There GreyICE drew the role of the ‘The Boggy Creek Monster’, VT. It was revealed post-game that GreyICE was actually a Miller. The game was not advertised as Bastard (which a hidden Miller pretty much requires) but it had no effect on the game as scum were lynched Day 1, 2, and 3.

Next fast-forward to LMP’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 Mafia where GreyICE as scum claims to be a ‘hidden’ Miller here. My reaction in the Dead QT –

Oh fuck I just saw Grey's claim ...

This would be like game two in a row that I have played with him where he was a 'hidden' Miller if it isn't a fake claim.

And Grey’s comment regarding that post-game –

Hahaha, it was obviously the Boggy Creek Monster I just fakeclaimed there, wasn't it? Fortunately the game was dead and gone. So, well, etc.

The karmic irony was soon to swing around, however. In the recently ended Blood Bowl Mafia GreyICE was endgamed. Part of the reason scum won was that Grey’s role in the game was that of a Troll and both non-Godfather Mafia were Troll members. Not being told he was a Miller to the RaceCop was partially to blame for Grey making some assumptions about the set-up that allowed the last scum to escape being hung and eventually endgame for the victory. Once again the game was not advertised as Bastard

So in a short period of time (site wise, that is) Grey drew a Hidden Miller in a game that it didn’t harm him, fake-claimed a Hidden Miller as scum, and then drew a Hidden Miller again in a game which ended up biting him in the ass.

I think that’s a sequence of events that bears memorializing in title.
"I am a leaf on the wind ... watch how I soar!"

Pretty much Geriatric game restricted at this point ... unless there are players I REALLY want to play with.

No, no, now you're going for the grammar angle, which isn't funny. The Nazi angle though...

Maybe they could give him a scummy for "Nicest guy" and he could have a banner and everything.

Yeah, I nom'd him for
Un-Scummy
for the same thing here, but nobody commented.

I also think
Not Scummy
would work, since he's both a "good guy", and he didn't have a Scummy award.

i guess it's honest, and I have nothing against Agar, but it's not really a good title. It's not like if he acted like nothing was amiss he had suddenly won the award.

much prefer "pretty much the definition of OMGUS." for greyice. Anyone who has played with him knows that he attacks anyone who expresses vague suspicion of him ruthlessly and latches on and doesn't let go. Also, it has a neat double meaning!

Please remind me Emp - what is your stance on any past titles that revolved around the happenings of a single game?

I think GreyICE's is fine. Who cares if it's statistically significant. That.... seems like a truly bizarre way of evaluating this title.

I screwed up once in an Assassins in the Palace game and got this title (that is probably so old it needs to be dropped)

GreyICE's title isn't in trouble because it is or isn't statistically significant, it's in trouble because it's a weak title.

I mean weak in the purest sense of the word, not that it's a
bad
title, but that it's fucking
weeeeeeak
. So the first problem is the question mark, it's inherently weak because it turns a statement about a user into a question to be answered. If a title is meant to describe a user, do you really want it to be so horribly soft?

The second problem is that I think it focuses on the wrong part of the situation. The Hidden part is actually the fun part, the miller part is mediocre. The result is that with the weak question mark driving the entire POINT of the title, but the beat on the upward inflection of the word miller. It ends up being a soft title, focusing on the word Miller.

That said, it's a solid idea, chase it! Recommendation is to focus more on the word HIDDEN or how it's about unrevealed information rather than on a question mark.
It's unfortunate that good oral sex excuses bad chemistry. - Korts
