This is the Title Fairy thread. I'm SleepyKrew, the Title Fairy. A title essentially functions as a gift from the community to a user. They are usually based on a memorable trait or event related to the recipient.


1. Any user can be nominated for a title. Anyone can nominate. Please don't self-nom.
2. Users may discuss and express support for a nomination. If a nomination gets support from five users, and I approve of it or have not made up my mind, the title will remain open to discussion for an additional 48 hours.
3. Once the 48 hours are up, the nominated user gets to decide whether they accept it or not. Obviously, the user can reject a nomination earlier in the process. Users are allowed to participate in discussions about their own potential titles, but they will preferably take a back-seat role. Do not try to steer the discussion on your own title. A user with a title can still be nominated for a new one.


1. Titles based on usernames or avatars will typically be rejected. However, exceptions are possible for exceptional suggestions (this is a subjective measure).
2. Titles based on real-life events, Skype groups, and other sources that aren't the mafiascum forums are allowed, provided that a suitable number of scummers are familiar with the source material (this is a subjective measure).
3. Don't try to insult people.
4. If you have a nomination based on an ongoing game, wait until it finishes.
5. No profanity.


1. The purpose of this thread is to discuss titles. Don't get too off-topic.
1a. A shitty joke title suggestion is okay. Don't spam them. I choose what constitutes spamming (this is a subjective measure).
1b. A non-title related one-off joke post is okay if it's not distracting from title discussion.
1c. A bunch of non-title related posts aren't okay. Obviously. It's sad that I have to include this.
2. If you feel I am being lax in my duties, feel free to call me out (it's how I got this gig!). If you feel you need to appeal to a higher authority, contact zoraster or Thesp.
3. Titles are fun. So have fun.

I'm also interested in hearing people's opinions on the six month requirement. I feel like there should be a minimum, but that three months might be more suitable. After all, the point of the requirement is just to make sure the person can remember their login information. If someone has done something title-worthy in their first three months, I don't see the point of making them wait. Thoughts?

I kind of agree with the 3 months instead of 6 thing. If someone's done something titleworthy already, I don't see why they shouldn't get one.

If this is going to be a thing (and it is a good thing!) it might be a good idea to re-nom good titles for people that only didn't go through because of the restrictions on real-life, skype, etc.

Of the top of my head Pie was nommed for Except When He Does (for the first Reckoning?) and singer had something for I think Scummer of Love. I'm about to go to bed so I'm not going to dig up the old discussions on those titles right now but I figured I'd bring it up and maybe someone else will (or will remember other old titles that didn't go through and should have under this rule adjustment).

Letting you know right now that I'm going to reject Except When He Does. The phrase just isn't unique to him.
